| Latest update 25 Jan 2020 Fran Ridge: Air National Guard pilot killed in crash of F-51 during UFO pursuit. Also sighting at Lockburne AFB, Ohio, later same afternoon, UFO maneuvering erratically up and down. This case was re-investigated in 2006 by the NICAP A-Team and there were major new discoveries. The full report in book form and full documentation is produced below. In 2018 Kevin Randle conducted a re-evaluation and concluded the original analysis was correct and the Mantell case was explained. However, Brad Sparks was able to establish the opposite and presented evidence on the oxygen cover-up. Brad Sparks: Jan. 7, 1948. Kentucky-Ohio (BBU)
1-7 p.m. (CST). Mantell case. Kentucky ANG pilot Capt Thomas F. Mantell, Jr., was killed in an F-51D fighter crash at about 3:18 p.m. about 4 miles SSW of Franklin, Ky., about 92 miles S from Godman Control Tower, in an attempt to intercept an unidentified object described in one of Mantell’s last radio reports to Godman AAF tower, Ft. Knox, Ky., about 725 ft elevation as “metallic and tremendous in size.” USAF 1st Lt. Orner, Commander, 733-5 Detachment, AACS, tracked unidentified white light with red coloration by weather tracking theodolite from Godman Field hangar at 240° azimuth 8° elevation at 5:35 p.m., which disappeared over the horizon at 250° azimuth 0° elevation. Expanded & greatly updated version, including new SKYHOOK map Fran Ridge: This August 1995 SIGHTINGS clip has the Mantell family meeting with Larry Tabor (historian), interview of Charles Moore. The February 1996 segment contains the Mantell family meeting with Clinton Blackwell who made comments that he never mentioned in all the interviews 50 years before which sheds doubt on his testimony today. However his original testimony is considered to be accurate.
