Brad Sparks: July 31, 1948; Near Marion, Virginia (BBU)
Shortly after sunset. Max Abbott, flying a Bellanca Cruisair
four-passenger private airplane, saw a single bright white light [take
off?] accelerate [to 300 mph?] and turn up a valley. (Berliner; cf.
