RADCAT is a revitalized special project now being conducted jointly by NICAP & Project 1947 with the help and cooperation of the original compiler of RADCAT, Martin Shough, to create a comprehensive listing of radar cases with detailed documentation from all previous catalogues, including UFOCAT and original RADCAT.

Tracked Stationary Target at 18 Miles

March 27, 1950; Motubu Peninsula, Okinawa
USAF antiaircraft radar operator Cpl. Bolfango tracked stationary target on radar at 18 miles range for ten minutes at 13,000 feet. Object then moved on 220 heading for 16.9 miles in two minutes or about 500 mph to a point over a mountain apparently still at 13,000 feet, where it was lost. Visual observation not detailed, only mentioned in summary. An object was tracked by radar and sighted visually by two witnesses and radar for over 12 minutes. Hynek rating: R/V; Vallee rating: MA1 plus any physical effects caused by the UFO.
