6:50 [8:50?] a.m. USAF crew of B-17 bomber and ground witnesses saw a silvery cylindrical object. (BB Status Rpt)

6:50 a.m. local time. Three ground crew personnel reported that they sighted an unidentifiable object traveling on a heading of 270 degrees from Anderson AFB. The object appeared to be cylindrical in shape, silvery color with a bright silverish flame trailing from the aft section. A similar or the same object was seen by two pilots of a B-17 aircraft at approximately 130 miles from Guam on a heading of approximately 270 degrees during the same time span. (Observers: 2 in air, 3 of a ground crew and a Naval Officer).
