Dan Wilson: Jan. 28, 1953; Stuttgart, Germany (BB) At 1952 hours (7:52 p.m. local time), Lt. Col. Max O. Mitchell was flying north in a C-47 aircraft on top an overcast at 7,500 feet, sighted a very bright light passing in front of the aircraft at a slight elevation above him from left to right. Mitchell called the pilot, Major David W. Pearsall's attention to the light which was moving at an extremely high rate of speed. In a few seconds the light turned to the north and then turned again in front of the C-47. The light made several violent maneuvers from just above the horizon to 15 degrees above the horizon. The light was observed for approximately 1-1/2 minutes. Detailed reports and documents reports/530128stuttgart_report.htm (Dan Wilson) |
