Wilson: Nov. 6, 1957; Whiteman AFB, Missouri (BBU) Beginning at around 4:39 p.m. CST, a number of radar tracks at different times were observed on search radar (RAPCON) at distances of 38 to 52 miles north and west of the base. The speed of the objects varied from very slow to 350 knots. On the radar scope the UFOBs were easy to recognize and they gave a good clear return that was as large and as bright as a B-47. The sightings lasted from 1 to 18 minutes. One object stopped for two sweeps of the radar. At one point a B-47 and an UFOB were on the radar scope at the same time. The returns from the UFOBs were round while the returns from the B-47 were elongated. On the precision radar, the UFOBs gave a return that appeared to the same as an aircraft. (Dan Wilson) Fran Ridge: This is another example of radarscope photos from Project Blue Book files showing appearance and motion of an unidentified object during successive radar sweeps. This report is not listed in the Blue Book "Unknowns." The significance of this case may have just recently been discovered. This may not have been just another UFO report involving radar. On June 18, 2002, the Nuclear Connection Project unearthed a nuclear connection (NC) at Whiteman AFB and a link to two other radar/visual (R/V) sightings on preceding and succeeding dates: Detailed reports and documents reports/571106whiteman_rep.htm (Dan Wilson) Photo of radar screen Nuclear Weapons Storage Areas - Whiteman AFB Missile Field - Missouri |
