12:20 a.m. local time. The Kindley Control Tower operator
visually sighted a red light at an altitude of approximately 3,000 to
4,000 feet which
appeared to be traveling at great speed. The object was in sight for
about one minute. At the same time the radar operator on duty picked up
an object which traveled in several directions at a speed of more than
Mach 1. The object faded from the radar scope as if it were very high
or low. The radar contact was made 4 times in about 7 or 8 minutes. |
