Ridge: The location of the witness was Palermo AFS, New Jersy. One of the scariest times in my life that I can remember, and one that involved the entire world, was the Cuban Missile Crisis. I later found out from a close friend, that a nuclear incident, triggered by a UFO over U.S. airspace at the time, could have occurred. I was told that I could release this report once my friend had passed away. A "hot bird" (an F-106) was scrambled when radar tracked an unknown on the East Coast.
