Animal Reaction Feature:
The witness was walking in her yard with her dog at 9 a.m. on a clear day.  The witness and dog noticed a very small (less than 1 foot) rectangular object hovering 18 inches off the ground about 12 feet away.  The dog was curious and had to be forcefully restrained from approaching the object.

Joan Woodward, Animal Reaction Specialist:
This daytime sighting took place on a farm.  The witness, 71, a retired artist with an interest in UFOs, saw the small object hovering just above some plants.  After 30 seconds, the object moved to the side, lifted higher, then moved across a fence line and road and out of sight. The object’s movement was graceful and at right angles [assume this means it changed positions or changed course using a right angle pathway—jw]. Duration of the sighting was about a minute.

The witness immediately went inside and sketched what she had seen.  She observed only the topside of the object.  It was 2 inches square (or slightly rectangular) and about 1.25/16th inch thick.  The top was composed of 4 “tiles”, each about 1 inch square.  The tiles were solid matte black and were joined by a translucent material (about 1/8th inch between tiles).  There was no front or back apparent.

No sound, no EM effects, and no physiological effects were reported.

Witness was interviewed in person. The State Entomologist said no known insect was shaped as described.
