Beluga Lake, Alaska

Fran Ridge:
July 21, 1952; Beluga Lake, Alaska
12:20 p.m. According to a brief statement included in the Project Blue Book files, Captain Henry S. Anthony, Jr., and First Lieutenant John T. Larkins were airborne in the Beluga Lake area when the first contact was made at 18,000 yards. Lock-on was accomplished at 12,000 yards and an intercept started. Target was level with the aircraft's speed greater than 100 knots to 6,000 yards. At this point the target disappeared and could not be re-established. Pilot did not make visual sighting. A little less than an hour later, they made another attempt to contact the target. They had remained in the area searching for the UFO.

See report by Kevin Randle below. Also note Tom DeMary's note that gave us some of the details, and then Jean Waskiewicz's documents from footnotes.com that gave us the official report from the radar operator. Jean  also made us a transcription.
