UFO Maneuvers ON FPS-8, Converges On Missile
March 10, 1959
Grand Bahama Island, West Indies

Dan Wilson:
March 10, 1959; Grand Bahama Island, West Indies (BBU)
At 4:00 a.m. EST, a UFO was discovered on an FPS-8 missile tracking radar located in Grand Bahama Island. The object maneuvered 50 to 70 miles SSE of Grand Bahama Auxillary AFB on heading of 145 degrees. The object completed two large circles at a speed of 200 to 300 knots, then completed a figure 8 maneuver. At approximately 4:18 a.m., a subsonic test missile from Patrick AFB, Florida, passed the object which converged on the missile on intercept course of 60 degrees at about 4:18 a.m.. Images on radar screen merged. The missile disappeared from the scope on a SSE heading. The object disappeared gradually from the scope on a 60 degree heading. The UFO was observed distinctly. 25 mins, 5 ? witnesses (Dan Wilson)

Brad Sparks:
Object went on an intercept course of 60° to follow a subsonic [600 mph] Snark intercontinental cruise missile launched from Patrick AFB, Florida, along the Atlantic Missile Range.  Both missile and UFO detected on radar scope simultaneously.  Missile disappeared to SSE while object gradually disappeared at 60° [azimuth? ENE (?)].  All military and civilian agencies were checked for aircraft and none were in the area.
