Sparks: March 13, 1959. Duluth, Minn. (BBU) 6:20 p.m. (CST). Military aircraft crews, 2 F-94’s, 2 B-52’s, and 2 F-102’s, saw an object with orange, red, white, green lights, the red lights rotating on the bottom. B-52 pilot “certain” the visual was a planet probably Venus [which was low on horizon from 31,000 ft]. Ground radar tracking by 707th AC&W Sq, Grand Rapids AFS, Minn., and 756th ACWRON Sq, with scope photos taken for RAND project. F-94C and F-102A detected ECM radar transmissions. (Sparks; NICAP website; Project 1947; McDonald list) Jean Waskiewicz: Most of these 318 pages of docs have the pilot's names blacked-out but towards the end, someone slipped and their names were left in. There was also a map of where and when the sightings occurred by aircraft. It was in 2 pages (line 3 below), but I clipped those into one page and have attached it. I also attached the page with their names. Fran Ridge: Three hundred eighteen pages of documents!!! Jean found these documents and worked over 15 hours just downloading and reszing them. Not to mention all the time on the pdf files in her report (line 4 below). And as with the Edwards case in 1964, "hot bird" means that the F-102 fighter was loaded with a nuclear weapon of some type. See item 179 on line 4 below. Research shows the Hughes GAR-11/AIM-26 Falcon missle was the only guided nuclear-armed air-to-air missile ever deployed by the USAF.
