2:10 pm CST. Gray and 2 other USAF crew of C-47 transport saw a 30-60 ft silver football-shaped object flying in straight level flight. (Project 1947; FUFOR Index)

2:10 p.m. CST Three USAF officers (two pilots), Capt. Robert E. Zimmerman, Capt. Frederick E. Howard, and 1st Lt. Harold G. Simpson, flying in a C-47 aircraft at 5500 feet observed a bright silver football-shaped object 30 to 60 foot long, flying on a course of 90-100 degrees magnetic on a straight and even flight at approximately 2000 feet altitude. The speed of the object was estimated at 300-500 mph. The length of the observation was less than two minutes.
