Brad Sparks: July 5, 1952; Hanford Atomic Works, Richland, Washington (BBU) 6 a.m. Conner Airlines C-46 pilot Baldwin, another pilot and 2 copilots saw a perfect circular white disc above the Hanford site. (Project 1947; FUFOR Index) Dan Wilson: July 5, 1952; Hanford Atomic Works, Richland, Washington (BBU) At 6:00 a.m. PST. Four pilots flying at 9,000 feet, observed a disc-like object just below a deck of wispy clouds about 10,000 to 15,000 feet directly above the C-46. The witnesses were: Capt. John Baldwin, Capt. George Robertson, H.D. Shenkel, and Steven Summers. Baldwin said that the disc stood still at first and then seemed to back away and change shape...becoming flat...gaining speed...and then disappearing. Robertson said "we couldn't pick it up on our radar. We reversed our course and went back, but we couldn't spot it again."
