Fran Ridge:
This report, aside from the red color, didn't seem like much at first, but it is yet another instance where documenting a suspected BBU paid off.

Dan Wilson:
Dec. 31, 1952; NE of Ramey AFB , Puerto Rico (BBU)
4:45 a.m. local time. An Aircraft Commander, Capt. Robert P. Gennrich, the First Pilot, 1st Lt. John C. Moore, and the left scanner, A/1C Anthony A. Eakovich, of RB-36 #2007, sighted an unidentified flying object. The object was first seen by the Aircraft Commander and First Pilot on the horizon and was observed to approach the aircraft which was flying on a course of 73 degrees at 8,000 feet altitude. The object was spherical in shape and reddish-orange in color and approximately 8 feet in diameter. It appeared to pass over the the left wing of the aircraft at a distance of approximately 300 feet or greater and travel away from the tail of the aircraft at a high rate of speed and then commence to climb until out of sight. The left scanner, A/1C Anthony A. Eakovich, stated then when he saw the object it was directly behind the RB-36 at a distance unknown, and it veered off to the right and began to climb sharply at a high rate of speed until it was out of sight. At the time of the sighting the aircraft was flying straight and level.
