Animal Reaction Feature:

Coyotes were reported howling loudly during a sighting of a large stationary triangle located an estimated 12 miles from the witness.  Coyote howling was also noted the previous evening. [September is a major “howling” season as young-of-the-year are dispersing and communicating back and forth and with their mother.—jw] The witness was taking her dog out when the lights were noticed. When asked about animal reactions, she did not mention the dog, only the coyotes. [I assume this means the dog did not react.—jw]

The sighting:

The witness, 21, took her dog out around midnight when she saw a bright object at a 45 degree elevation and estimated the object to be about 12 miles away.  She, her mother, and a friend watched the lights hover in place for almost an hour.  The skies were clear and a full moon and Mars were visible.

The triangular formation of 4-5 lights was arranged with the peak of the triangle facing downward.  The lights, assumed to be on the outer edge of a triangle, flashed in sequence, initially slower and later faster.  The color of the lights changed: pinkish-red, blue, white, yellow.  The apparent size of the object was less than ˝ that of the full moon. The observers discontinued watching as nothing further occurred except the object drifted from its original location.

No EM effects, no sound, and no physiological effects were reported.
