Animal Reaction Feature:

This event occurred in a suburban area of Camarillo, located less than 50 miles WNW of Los Angeles, on a clear afternoon.  A woman (27) was working at her computer when her two dogs began barking.  The barking was “unusually aggressive” and frenzied.  When the barking continued with a “fierce strange note,” the witnesses was alerted that something unusual was occurring.  Going outdoors, the witness saw her Grandmother, already in the yard, motioning her to come out and look.   She saw a silent, gray or silver disc hovering over her house.  The dogs were “staring up at it intensely” and they continued to watch and follow the object’s motions.

The witness stated that she did not recall her dogs ever barking at an airplane or helicopter previously.

The Sighting:

The witness’s Grandmother had seen the object approach and saw it hover low over the house.  When the witness came outdoors, she saw the object hovering over the house, and then watched it fly over the street by her house and then over a house across the street.  The object moved with ease and with “a pattern of hesitating and then hovering.”  At one point it was described as seeming “to lift up … and soar in a straight path...”

The duration of the sighting was “a few minutes.”

At the object’s nearest point, it was estimated to be at treetop level and as close as 20 feet to the witnesses. The object was described as a disc-like, gray or silver, metallic, and reflective.  No projections or lights were mentioned and no trail was seen.

At the end of the sighting, the witness watched the object move away. As it moved into the distance, it seemed to vanish and reappear, possibly because of “slight clouds in the distance.”  The object came from the south and disappeared into the distance going north.

The witness was well spoken and educated.  Her eyesight and hearing are excellent. After her sighting, she did some investigation on her own into possible government experiments with flying discs.  Her Grandmother had fair eyesight and excellent hearing.

No sound, no EM effects, and no physiological effects were reported.

[A report from Northern California on November 15, 2005, reports a disc with a similar intense dog reaction by a dog that normally paid no attention to anything in the sky.—  jw ]   http://www.nicap.org/ar-051115dir.htm
