Animal Reaction Feature:
This event occurred in full daylight, at 1 PM. The witness’s dog ran to the bark door, barking in a way that made the witness think there was someone in the back yard. When the door was opened, the dog ran to the back fence, looking up and barking. When the witness followed the dog’s line of sight, he saw a dark object about 20 feet off the ground and about 40 feet away
The Sighting:
The witness is a dealer in a business that involves buying and reselling. The sighting occurred at the witness’s trailer home near O’Hare International Airport. The object he saw was round at the top and square at the bottom, only about 4 feet high by 3 feet wide. * It was hovering, “twisting slowly.” It then reoriented (bent backwards) and started to ascend slowly, and then quickly until it entered a cloudbank where it could be seen as a dark spot, and then it disappeared. [Weather data indicated scattered clouds to mostly cloudy, mid-30° degrees, good visibility, wind from ENE to E at 7-9 mph (www.wunderground.com —jw].
The witness speculated that the object was examining the fuel tanks for O’Hare [A tank farm is partly surrounded by the trailer park; another in the airport is about 1.5 miles or less south. —jw]
No sound, no EM effects, and no physiological effects were report. [However, the dog’s reaction of running to the door and alarm barking suggests that it did hear something. —jw]
