Animal Reaction Feature:
Susie is a small housedog, gentle, with a lot of personality. Pet of the Semaza family, she had had her first litter of puppies two days prior to this event. Between 3:30-4:00 am, a loud humming sound, increasing in volume, awaken the Semaza’s and Susie. Susie started vocalizing, first whimpering, then frantic howling and barking. Periodically she would become quiet and would stare at the wall [typical attitude for a dog whose attention is focused on listening—jw]. Through a window Mrs. Semaza and her children, 14 and 11, observed an oval object that they thought was not far above the trees and was estimated to be between 2 blocks and a half-mile away from them.
Subsequently, Susie moved her puppies from the ground floor to another location on the second floor of the house.
Mrs. Semaza said the humming sound that awakened her increased in volume until it hurt her ears and she compared it to a “mob of people…humming.”
Looking for the source of the sound, an oval-shaped object was viewed through a window. It was described as having a bright red light on each end that sent shafts of light toward the ground. Between the red lights was a horizontal row of several bluish white lights. Below and around the object was a layer of haze or gray smoke. The sky above the object had a glowing pinkish area and near it was a hot, clear, red color.
Initially the object was hovering, but soon began rising slowly, leaving the smoke layer behind. The object rose higher, flashed a brilliant white light for 3 seconds, and then quickly disappeared.
No EM effects were reported. Physiological effects (sound hurt ears) and humming sound were reported.
