Animal Reaction Feature:
A man was awakened by dogs barking excitedly.  He saw a double disc object descending and then landing in a vacant lot about 80 feet away.  The object had many flashing body lights and a sizzling or static sound was reported.  Dogs, belonging to the witness and to his neighbors barked constantly until the event ended.

Joan Woodward, Animal Behavior Specialist:
At 3:40 am, in a suburban area of Gulf Breeze, on a partly cloudy, windy night, a 31 year old laborer was awakened by dogs barking.  He saw an object descend and land or hover 3-4 inches above the ground in a vacant lot about 80 feet away.  He woke his wife, 24,  and son, 12.  He went outside and approached to within 40 feet of the object and shown a flashlight on it.  The object flashed back and disappeared.

The overall size of the object was estimated as no more than 3 feet.  The object was described as two discs connected by a vertical rod on the lower 3 feet (not exactly clear what that means—jw).  The upper 1 foot was a clear dome and light.  The bottom disc had 15-20 red-orange lights that were rapidly flashing.  The top disc had 5-6 green and white lights that were also flashing.

A static-like or sizzling sound was reported.  No EM effects or physiological effects were reported. Vegetation in the area appeared unaffected.
