4 Pilots Report

Flying Saucers

Over Dallas Area

DALLAS, May 18 (AP) A Marine

Reserve pilot said today he and

three other jet pilots lost a race

over Dallas Friday with 16 objects

they could only describe as flying

saucers.

Maj. Charles Scarborough, an

attorney, said the objects he and

three other flyers sighted "glowed

like a light."

Scarborough said he and Capt.

Charles Stanton were flying north

at 15,000 feet about noon Friday

toward Lake Dallas. Major E. C.

White of Amarillo and Capt. R. L.

Jorgenson were flying at 42,000

feet.

Scarborough spotted the objects

to the side and above him and

Jorgenson could see them below

him from 42,000 feet. The officers

brought their S9F7 jets into forma-

tion in an effort to box the objects
but were outrun.
