Jerry L. Sievers
1939-2014 - Vincennes, Indiana.  Jerry Sievers has researched and investigated reports of UFOs and other unexplained phenomena since 1957.  It was in that year that he was inspired by the book, "The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects" by Edward J. Ruppelt.  He was a member of my original team, CRUFO (Civilian Research: Unidentified Flying Objects) and later, Indiana Unit No. 1, a NICAP Subcommittee from 1960 to 1969. In 1970 Jerry joined the Mutual UFO Network as a Field Investigator and State Section Director for Indiana. In the early eighties he served as the Public Information Representative for the J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS).  He, with Kerry Teverbaugh, co-founded UPRO (Unexplained Phenomena Research Organization) formed to study extra-normal events.  When I became State Director for MUFON for Indiana in 1986, it was Jerry Sievers, my high-school buddy and loyal assistant, who made the National UFO Information Week's promotions and State meetings so successful. He took my place as State Director of the Indiana Chapter of MUFON in 1997 and served in that office until March of 2011. He was one of my best friends and colleagues all those years. (Fran Ridge)
