Jean Waskiewicz

Jean Waskiewicz became part of the NICAP A-Team sometime in the very early years of the NICAP website work. Either the late 90's or shortly after. For most of the work on the website it was Fran Ridge, Dan Wilson, and Jean. If it hadn't been for Jean the website and the work would not have happened. She was the driving force to make things right and made almost all of the transcripts  for most of the barely readble documents we now appreciate so much. I can't begin to descibe how much she actually did. And she was our tech support. But one of the most important things she did was help us document the Mantell case re-investigation. When we purchased the voluminous, overpriced, poor-quality crash investigation report, Jean re-typed it and made it accessable to all researchers. That one accomplishment cleared the name of Captain Thomas Mantell and made the case that his death was an accident, there was an active UFO situation that began in Ohio, and he was chasing a real UFO, his comments heard over Plan 62 intercom for all to hear. Many lies were exposed and the Air Force was upset for years over the incident. Thanks to Jean, many of the pages found on the NICAP website have her name listed there. She passed away in Lavonia, Michigan, on March 15th, 2020 at the age of 72.
