Dan Wilson
(1951- 2022)

Daniel John Wilson was born in 1951 and lived in Painesville, Ohio. Daniel was a carpenter and enjoyed music, especially the blues. He also enjoyed flower gardening and was proud of his exceptional tomatoes. But he never had the time to discuss these more mundane things. He was intensely involved in Project Blue Book document research and spent most of his time going over them. He began studying nuclear weapons, the entire nuclear weapons complex, nuclear weapons testing, and nuclear power production in 1988. He had read extensively on the UFO phenomena and had interviewed various witnesses from the Air Force, Navy, and the Atomic Energy Commission. He contributed very interesting information to the newly released book, "UFOs and Nukes", by Robert Hastings. Since 1998 he had extracted thousands of vital documents from the Project Blue Book Archives for the NICAP site and discovered many new reports that others have been able to add to the collection of BB unknowns. What most people did not know was that he had done all of this from a computer at the local library! It wasn't long after finding this that NICAP* was able to buy him his own personal computer. Since 2003 he provided valuable researched information regarding UFOs and the nuclear connection and was an official member of the Nuclear Connection Project.

All this time Dan Wilson was involved in some private projects researching UFO reports near cattle mutilation sites and through incredible insight found these incidents strongly suggested correlation of prolific mutilation events with nuclear weapons test fallout. These studies were accomplished by obtaining and using government nuclear test fallout maps which were made using aerial air sampling and ground sampling. It appears that the UFO occupants were monitoring the effects of nuclear test fallout by collecting cattle and other farm animal tissues which would store the isotopes. It's not hard to see how forward looking hatching that idea and study was. Dan was also logging cases of UFOs and aircraft accidents. He was able to amass a list of disturbing incidents and many of them were posted on the NICAP site. (nicap.org/aca/

In 2006 when Fran Ridge re-opened the Mantell case, Dan discovered documents that proved that the object identified as the source of the incident was over 140 miles away when encountered by Mantell. With the help of numerous members of NICAP's A-Team, including Jean Waskiewicz, Brad Sparks, Barry Greenwood, Mary Castner and others, they were able to produce a major investigation report with an analysis by Brad Sparks proving a cover-up in the Mantell case. Months before this, in December of 2005, Wilson had found an Air Force document proving that Mantell;s F-51 Mustang had a working oxygen system.

On Jan 27, 2015, we received an email from Wilson. After months of harassment by unknown sources his computer had been hacked in December and by now it had been destroyed. But that wasn't the end of this trooper. Fran Ridge was working on a paper about Roswell and the nagging question about this major event was, what did we do to precipitate the crash at Roswell? What events led up to it.  In June of 2020 Wilson sent Ridge evidence that suggested UFOs had been were monitoring some serious events. Wilson wrote: "I have some good information on the Ghost Rockets over Sweden in 1946. At that same time thousands of tons of chemical and biological weapons were being sunk aboard ships in the waters off southern Sweden, Norway and Denmark. I think the two events are related." Nothing had been heard of from Wilson since that June.

On May 30th, 2024, Rob Duvall, a colleague of Wilson's (and also a member of the Nuclear Connection Project), discovered a very brief obituary. Dan Wilson had passed away in TriPoint, Ohio, on March 10th, 2022 at the at the age of 71. No case of death was given.
