The 1992 UFO Chronology  Created; November 15, 2008 This is currently a 10-page chronology of UFO incidents and events for 1992. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to Richard Hall (the original 1992 chronology from UFOE II), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online NICAP DBase [NSID]. You will note the many foreign reports that we are now being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us. As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to 1969) involved the expertise of two other team members; Rebecca Wise (Project Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns). Bob Gribble's entries are those filed with the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington, now operated by Peter Davenport. Trace cases are now being entered with the help of Ted Phillips, Center for Physical Trace Research and retrofitted into previous chronologies as time permits. Since I was Indiana State Director (MUFON) at that time, some of our Indiana cases are listed here. Late at night a farmer that had experienced strange cattle
mutilations in the past was awakened by the sound of his dog barking.
The farmer went to investigate and upon entering the cow shed saw a
small white "object" resembling a jellyfish with numerous tentacle-like
protrusions coming out of its bottom. The "object" was floating in the
air; it then drifted outside where it vanished. A cow was discovered on
the floor. It had a badly broken leg. (Source: Jenny Randles, Peter A.

Jan. 5, 1992; Longchaumois, Jura department, France
8:45 PM. A luminous glowing ball of light flew eastward in a
descending staircase flight trajectory over Longchaumois. (Source:
Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue # 312).
Jan. 16, 1992; Columbus, GA
4:00 PM. A gray disc swooped down over a car with four
passengers and pursued it for seven minutes in Columbus. (Source: Paul
Ferrughelli, Computer Catalogue of UFO Reports, 1988-1994, citing B.

Jan. 18, 1992; Col de Vence, France
Several witnesses on a bus in Col de Vence, France saw an
intensely red, Saturn-shaped object skim over the nearby mountain tops.
The ring around the UFO was sharply defined. (Source: Lumieres dans la

Feb. 15, 1992; Warrington, England
7:15 AM. A dome-shaped UFO with white windows or lights
rotating around the base hovered over Risley Nature Reserve. It was
seen from the M62 highway, and it disappeared into a large cloud.

Feb. 24, 1992; Porto Alegre, Brazil
7:50 PM. An observer in Porto Alegre saw a glow in the
clouds, then a saucer-shaped object descending through the cloud. The
object directed a beam of light towards the ground. Several figures
were visible inside the object, who also shone beams of light at the

Feb. 28, 1992; Adirondacks region, NJ
The main witness along with some others watched several gray
colored metallic objects maneuvering over the area. There appeared to
be some military planes involved also. One object approached and landed
nearby, soon several short gray-colored humanoids approached the
witnesses. The beings had large heads and communicated to the witnesses
that they were going to be taken. The witnesses then apparently

March 3, 1992; Warner, NH 6:40 PM. A mother and her son, age 10, saw lights in the sky
when they turned a corner in the road. They stopped the car and went
into a field to get a better view. They saw a white triangular UFO
flying through the sky, making a whirring sound. They continued to
watch until the object passed behind and was hidden by some nearby

March 3, 1992; Concord, Merrimack County, NH
7:50 PM. A huge triangle with pulsating bluish-white lights was seen by
a Mr. Cross flying just over the treetops along Rte 3-A near the I-93
overpass. He stopped his car and watched as the UFO flew overhead
during a snowstorm, making a sound like increasing rain on a canvas

Good, Alien Update, p. 252).March 3, 1992; Nr. Plainfield, IN 8:10 PM. 52 year old female was driving her car
west on US
State Road 40 near the local Elks Club The witness saw a large cone
shape light through her car window off in a nearby corn field. The
light was off to the side of the car 500 feet from the witness and 50
feet from the ground. The light was red, green and white in color, was
larger then a full moon and brighter then the sun. The witness stated
she was unable to hear the air conditioner in in the car and the radio
was affected. The light hovered in the west then moved to the east and
disappeared. The witness stated the light laid down horizontal, gave
off green sparks. The witness was concerned that other cars had passed

March 5, 1992; Palhano, Brazil
6:30 PM. A military policeman reportedly saw a domed disc
shaped object land nearby. Five 4-½ foot tall humanoids
emerged and took him inside the craft. After 5 hours he is returned
back to the abduction site. The beings communicated with him and told
him they are "Catadorians." No other information. (Source: UBPDV 1992 -

March 6, 1992; Scarborough, South Africa 9:10 PM. From the shore of the port of Scarborough, a huge,
luminous silver, domed triangular craft hovered near some oil tankers
for nearly three minutes. (Source: Cynthia Hind, UFO Afri News,

March 9, 1992; Hamar, Norway 2:00 PM. Two women walking home near a lake in Hamar,
Norway heard a low frequency rumbling sound, like that of a train on
idle. Then a bright light hurt their eyes. Fifteen meters away was a
domed craft with a triangular bottom. Inside were two figures. They had
long hair, large slanted eyes, and penetrating stares. (Sources: Albert

March 13, 1992; Bellevue, WS 10:00 AM. Mr. Hooker, the chief photographer for WFRV-TV,
videotaped a cigar-shaped UFO in Bellevue, Wisconsin, which is a suburb
of Green Bay. The UFO traveled from right to left in the frame, passing
behind a windmill. Its estimated altitude was 25,000 feet, and it had a
speed of 7,000 mph. (Source: Timothy Good, Alien Update, p.

March 13, 1992; Jacanas, Puerto Rico Night. Several witnesses watched numerous lights maneuvering
over a nearby hilltop. A huge round, lighted craft descended and
appeared to land behind the hill. Two women got into their car and
drove towards the location to investigate. As they neared the area they
noticed a grayish luminous light hovering over the hill, and a columnar
beam of light was emanating from it. One of the then went into a trance
and would not respond to her companion, so the other decided to drive
back to her home. Once at her house they picked up some additional
witnesses and they again drove back to the area where the light had
been seen hovering. When they arrived, all of the witnesses except for
the driver noticed a five-foot tall humanoid figure standing by the
side of the road, no more than then feet from their vehicle. The being
was thin with long thin arms, a large head and large dark almond-shaped
eyes; his skin was gray in color and appeared to have a slight glow to
it. He stood motionless looking at the witnesses. Behind him a shaft of
grayish light could be seen, apparently coming from the light source
above. At this point the witnesses panicked and drove away quickly from

March 14, 1992; Ariquemes, Rondonia state, Brazil 1:00 AM. A disc-shaped UFO appeared in the skies over the
Amazon Rain Forest city.. The silent three-meter wide disc came down to
only 3 meters above the ground, and yellow light was seen coming from
portholes in the craft. A power outage occurred, and several witnesses
felt physically pulled toward the object. (Source: Larry Hatch, U

March 14, 1992; Gulf Breeze, FL
8:23 PM. 52 witnesses watched, took still photographs, and
videotaped as red spheres of light maneuvered in the sky, responding
to very bright searchlight signals. Four red balls of light turned
bright white, then disappeared. (Source: Donald M. Ware, MUFON UFO

March 17, 1992; Ipigua, Sao Paulo state, Brazil 5:30 PM. Birds were seen fleeing from a farming area. Next a
12-meter in diameter metallic disc rose up from ground, and a palm tree
was seen bending and swaying away from the direction of the UFO when it
took off. A circular depression resembling a "saucer nest" was left in
the vegetation. (Source: Larry Hatch, U computer database, case 17660,

March 19, 1992; Haines City, FL
3:51 AM. Glowing green dome-shaped object maneuvered around patrol car, E-M effects, officer badly frightened. Patrolman Delgado had just checked the doors on a local business (Alpine Industries) and had turned north onto 30th Street from State Road 544. After turning onto 30th St. he stated he saw a green light in his rear view mirror. He thought the light was coming from a small plane that was about to crash. Just seconds after sighting the green light, the interior of his patrol unit (26) was illuminated with a green glow that turned the color of his dark blue uniform to a purple color. The object began to pace his unit which was traveling at approximately 40 mph. The object moved from the right side to the front of the vehicle several times. When the object had moved to the front of the vehicle for the third time, Patrolman Delgado related that he slowed his unit and pulled off the roadway fearing he might collide with the object. The object was described as a green light (a color of green he had never seen before). The color on the object seemed to flow over the surface. He described the shape as approximately 15 feet long with a 3' foot thick center. During the sighting, the object hovered approximately 10 feet off the ground. Patrolman Delgado also stated that after he pulled off the roadway, the engine, lights, and radio on his patrol unit ceased to function. The object hovered in front of his unit and then shown a bright white light into the interior of his vehicle. At this time he exited his unit and began to walk backwards away from the object. He also tried to radio Haines City dispatch on his walkie talkie which would not function. He also noticed that the air around him had chilled to the point that he could see his breath fog when he breathed. The object was hovering approximately 20 feet north east of his unit. He stated that after he exited his vehicle, the object sped away at a fantastic speed after approximately 2 or three seconds. The object departed the area in a north easterly direction at approximately 10 feet altitude. He stated he lost sight of the object in only seconds. It did not rise in altitude but hugged the tree tops as it departed. (Section V, Volume II, The UFO Evidence) March 20, 1992; Dundee, OH Animal reactions to physical traces April 1992; Tijeras Canyon, NM
9:40 PM. Sue Strickland was traveling north through the
canyon when she saw something resembling a "mini jet" streak into the
canyon from behind her, preceded by a fireball of light about 2' in
diameter. The ball of light streaked by following the paved road, the
mini jet apparently following it. Near an outcrop the mini jet suddenly
stopped, and hovered silently, it then tilted 45 degrees and maneuvered
over Strickland's vehicle. After hovering over the truck for a minute
or two it accelerated and disappeared around the next curve. The
witness drove up and saw it on the road ahead. She could see that it
was a jet-like vehicle slightly larger than she thought with a curved
canopy. She could see two figures, one inside the other walking towards
the rear of the object. As she sat looking at the object and figures
suddenly she found herself inside the object. She stood in an
aisle with a short wooden bench on both sides. She attempted to walk
towards the front of the object but was commanded to stop. After saying
something to the pilot, a short, thin, man-like figure approached her.
He was bald and was wearing a blue coverall with gold embroidered
epaulets on his shoulders. Apparently the being attempted to implant a
hypnotic suggestion in her mind, about forgetting the incident, but it
did not work. He looked surprised then the pilot told him to get rid of
her. Her next memory was of sitting in her truck, and seeing a streak
of light out of the corner of her eye. (Source: CAUS)
April 15, 1992; Aloha, WA 10:55 PM. A bright blue, domed disc-shaped UFO emerged out
of the clouds and approached a 20-year-old witness in his yard. It
stopped briefly, changed color from bright blue to bright red, then
accelerated rapidly away toward the west. (Source: Robert Gribble, MUFON

April 9, 1992; Russas, Brazil 9:00 PM. A nocturnal light followed five people into the
town of Russas, Brazil. It hovered nearby as the terrified witnesses
attempted to hide from the light source in a large tree. The object
left a few minutes later. (Source: UBPDV, Causistica Brasileira de

May 3, 1992; Fordland, MOApril 12, 1992; near Deming, NM
11:20 PM. The witness was driving on US 180 along the desert
and was listening to his CB radio when the radio suddenly went silent
and he vaguely noticed a patch of white light shining on a rise over
the left side of the road. He then heard a voice in his head telling
him to "watch out for the smoke. "Thinking it had been the CB radio he
replied but there was no answer. Suddenly what looked like a huge
luminous cloud of smoke began stretching across the highway ahead, it
formed a solid curtain across the road. The witness drove into
the grayish-white vapor for an hour. He stopped his vehicle and walked
across the road and into a ditch but was still unable to see anything.
He suddenly went into a state of paralysis and sensed the approach of
two persons. Each person got on either side of the witness and placed a
firm grip on his forearms. The beings had long bony fingers. He was
then led to a shiny metallic object, shaped like a flattened arch with
rounded ends. A rectangular opening appeared on the side of the craft.
Next he remembers sitting back on a chair inside the object feeling
dizzy and numb. He was briefly alone then two beings entered the room.
One being was a male with a round oval face with two large oval black
eyes. He was five-foot tall with a thin torso and limbs. The second
being was a female, similar to the male being. The witness was then led
to a dimly lit room and placed in a reclining position on a chair. He
felt a buzzing stimulating sensation on his facial area and felt as if
a small object was being introduced into his nose. He was then released
and let outside and floated horizontally towards his vehicle. He
resumed the drive and the vapor-like fog quickly dissipated. (Source:

1:30 AM. A green glowing disc-shaped object, ringed with
portholes and estimated to be 100 meters in diameter, was sighted
flying over the residential area. It made a sonic boom as it flew off

April 28, 1992; Lajas, Puerto Rico A jet aircraft tentatively identified as a U.S. Air Force
F-14 Tomcat was seen pursuing a domed disc-shaped UFO. The UFO would
make multiple stops, and as the jet closed in the saucer split in half.
The top half flew off toward the southwest and the other half flew off
to the east. The F-14 jet remained circling in the area, and then flew
off to the east. (Source: Timothy Good, Alien Update, p. 30).
May 1, 1992; Polegate, East Sussex, England 10:20 PM. Two men, Lycett and Hazelgrove, were driving down
the A22 Highway when they sighted a silent flying object with red
flashing lights. They thought its outline looked like a DC-9 airplane
about to crash, but the nose of the object pulled up and turned toward
the witnesses' car, who then thought it was going to crash into them.
They sped up, and when they looked behind the object was gone. (Source:

Midnight. Close encounter with three witnesses, dark object (8'x20') with square windows. (AUN-4,9) May 8, 1992; along the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane, Queensland, Australia 10:00 PM. A domed disc-shaped object, described as a bright,
stationary inverted plate with a hump on top, was observed above the
tree line by a woman driving on Bruce Highway. It then moved upward and
disappeared. (Source: Timothy Good, Alien Update, pp. 266-269,

May 14, 1992; Gladstone, MO 12:10 PM. Detailed report of a daylight disc observed by at least three people. (AUN-7,7) June 4, 1992; Londonderry, NH A 28-year-old man was watching star-like lights move
around outside his window, and was hoping to get a good photograph of
what was going on when a structured unidentified craft came flying over
the trees and flew slowly down his street, twice. Strangely, he made no
attempt during this close encounter to take a photograph. (Source: Ken

June 5, 1992; near Wanaque Reservoir, NJ
10:50 PM. Strange lights were seen and videotaped. The
lights maneuvered about the sky, and faded in and out. Wanaque
Reservoir has been the scene of many repeated UFO sightings, especially

June 10, 1992; Coatesville, PA
4:30 PM. Several workers at the Lukens Steel Company plant
saw a disc-shaped UFO land on the factory grounds around quitting time.
The security guard said that the object touched down briefly and then
took off in the direction of the old Coatesville Hospital. The company,
a defense contractor, refused to let UFO investigators talk with any of
the witnesses or answer further questions about what they saw. Attempts
to set up interviews outside of the plant were also unsuccessful.

June 14, 1992; Topanga Canyon, CA
Midnight +. According to the Lost Hills/Malibu sheriff's
office, a badly shaken man reported that an unidentified bright light
followed him and his girlfriend sometime after midnight. "Suddenly it
was over us, we lost control of the car and it lifted us up in the
sky--lifted us over the ground." What happened next was vague,
according to the driver, who reckons they both lost memory for "maybe a
couple of minutes, and then we were put down. Suddenly it wasn't there
anymore." Shortly afterwards another call was received by the Sheriff's
office from another witness, who together with his girlfriend saw three
flying disks high up in the Canyon. "They were following us above the
car, and we stopped and got out…we watched them and within maybe three
seconds, they were gone--straight up into the air." (Source: Timothy

June 14, 1992; Topanga Canyon, CA
10:30 PM. In the area called Saddlepeak over 200 glowing
spheres and oval shaped object were seen rising from behind a ridge,
one-by-one. The objects darted across the sky in different directions,
sometimes making right angle turns. (Source: Preston Dennett, UFOs over

June 23, 1947; Clayton, GA
A large shiny silver ball hovered for several minutes over a mountain
and then zoomed away. There were two witnesses named Cantrell and

11:00 PM. Three silent disc-shaped objects were sighted from
US Highway 22 near the West Virginia State border. The discs were at
treetop level and blinked in unison. They formed a triangle in the sky,

June 27, 1992; Raeford, NC
Two witnesses in a mobile home were rattled and shaken up
when a disc-shaped object landed in a field nearby. The grass was
crushed down where the object had touched down. (Source: MUFON UFO
Journal, October 1992).
June 29, 1992; Mt. Vernon, IN 8:19 PM. Observation of very strange aircraft during T-ball game. (Ridge files) July 5, 1992; Indianapolis, IN Bt. 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. The two witnesses (a man and his
brother) were on their second story balcony of their apartment
building, which is located about 3 miles southwest of the Indianapolis
airport. They saw a circle of white light, with a flashing red
light underneath, move towards the airport from the east. The
object stopped and then appeared to hover near or above the airport for
approximately 10 minutes. As an aircraft approached the airport,
the object moved upward and dimmed its lights. When the aircraft
passed, the object moved back down and hovered for approximately
another 3 minutes. After this, the object moved back towards the
east. The total sighting lasted about 15 minutes. (Not
investigated. No response from witnesses. CUFOS letter, dated July 6,
1992)
July 17, 1992; near Iguape, Brazil
6::30 PM. A bright UFO was sighted hovering just above the
ocean off the coast near Iguape, Brazil. It sucked up a wide column of

July 25, 1992; Tarasovka, Ukraine
Three young men were racing dirt bikes on a river bank when
they saw a luminous sphere land. A 1.6 meter (5.5 feet) tall man
emerged from the object wearing white coveralls and a helmet. He walked
in a peculiar manner. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact

Dog did not respond to oval that divided Aug., 1992; Casey, IA Dog curious about small object near ground Aug. 11, 1992; Dedestapolsanyban, Hungary
A large bright sphere hovered over a construction site next
to a house in Dedestapolsanyban, Hungary on this night. It had numerous
portholes and a beam of light came from a circular opening in the lower
half of the object. Beings with featureless heads, long thin arms, and
wearing robes were seen collecting samples from the ground. (Source:

Aug. 11, 1992; Cass County, MO
10:00 PM. A 15-foot diameter sphere was seen hovering only a
few feet above the ground. (Source: Paul Ferrughelli, Computer

Aug. 14, 1992; Homer City, PA
Triangular silvery object passed over car, blue flashing body lights; made sharp turns, moved out of sight (Section IX, Volume II, The UFO Evidence). Aug. 15, 1992; Marshfield, MO 5:30 AM. A close encounter with a boomerang-type shape observed by two witnesses. As the lights (on the object) passed over, five vertical beams of light shot down, illuminating the vehicle and its interior with brilliant white light. Car sputtered. Manta ray-shaped object with body lights approached car, falling leaf motions, hovered, light beam brightly illuminated terrain (Section VI, Volume II, The UFO Evidence). Aug. 29, 1992; Mount Seymour, British Columbia
2:30 AM. Three cylinders were seen in the sky at close range
after a home burglar alarm system and lights were effected. The
policeman witness was unable to wake his wife, but their baby reacted
to the close encounter, and their dog became sick. The incident lasted

Sept. 17, 1992; north of Gardner, CO
1:30 PM. A 12-foot long metallic object with stubby wings,
and a clear dome or cupola, buzzed UFO investigator Christopher O'Brien
and his partner while driving seven miles north of Gardner. It made no
sound. (Source: Christopher O'Brien, The Mysterious Valley, p. 54).
Sept. 22, 1992; Huaika Tabio, Colombia
8:05 PM. About 15 members of an international UFO group had
gone to the scene of previous encounters in Huaika Tabio, Colombia and
were waiting for any unusual phenomena. At this time they saw a large
orange-colored sphere descend from the mountain and land about 300
meters away from them. Five from the group approached and watched a
beam of white light strike the ground ahead of them. From the ground it
became a crescent shaped light, blue in color. Smoke then rose around
the object and a tall blond-haired, Nordic-looking individual emerged
from the smoke. He walked around briefly, then entered the
crescent-shaped light. Everything then just disappeared. (Source:

Dog barking at bullet-shaped object with searchlights alerted witness Oct. 2, 1992; Stinesville, IN 11:30 PM. Witness got out of bed and went to door of trailer. She saw a large white light, flashing in clockwise rotation, below tree line, aproximately. 20-30 feet in diameter. The light then moved upward above the tree line and joined two other white lights of the same size. The three lights then floated up and down behind the tree line, the whole event lasting approximately. 2 mins. (MUFON Indiana, FI Will Ott) Oct. 13, 1992; Westerville, OH 8:00 PM. Four witnesses describe an object that was first round, then triangular, then hot-dog shaped. The 45-minute close encounter is detailed at the link above. 12:45 AM. Motorists pulled off road to watch yellow ball of
light west of Lake San Marcos. The nocturnal light hovered over the
road for two minutes, then shot straight up. (Source: UFO Newsclipping

Numerous sightings in Saguache County (Section VIII, Volume II, The UFO Evidence). Nov. 6, 1992; Carbondale, CO
4:00 AM. A 100-foot in diameter disc-shaped object hovered
over the town, then flew off over Mount Sopris. There were two
separate, identical accounts of the sighting. A large disc-shaped

6:20 AM. A 25-30-foot diameter saucer hovered three feet
above the ground, only twelve feet away from the witness. (Source:

Nov. 30, 1992; Valley View, South Australia
A 62-year-old man first heard a rushing wind noise, then saw
a huge half-oval shaped UFO at tree top level. It was orange/copper in
color and had a black underside. It stopped 100 meters away. There were
three flashing exhaust vents underneath the craft, which was rotating
counter-clockwise, 5-6 exhaust vents in the rear of the object, and two

Dec. 1, 1992; Laeger, WV
4:00 PM. David Church saw a delta-shaped UFO fly overhead
very slowly at about 250 feet altitude. It moved backwards, with the
pointed end toward the rear. It had many multi-colored lights on the
underside, lit up like a Christmas tree. (Source: Bob Teets, West

Dec. 4, 1992; Winston Salem, NC
8:05 AM. In the suburbs of Winston Salem, an adult watched a
child walk to the school bus stop. Beyond the woods and above some
houses she saw a multi-colored domed disc-shaped object, perhaps 16-20
feet in diameter, moving in the sky. It made a humming noise. It
appeared to hide beyond the furthest house, then hover over the house,
and approached to within 75 feet of the child. The indicent lasted

Dec. 18, 1992; Laeger, WV
7:10 PM. Several people at the local Dairy Queen saw a large
diamond-shaped UFO with a squared back fly over toward the southwest.

Dec. 20, 1992; East Holden, ME
7:10 PM. Two independent male witnesses, one with field
glasses, watched a multi-colored, disc-shaped UFO fly from the
northeast over a lake in East Holden, Maine. It flew south over a
highway and went down behind some trees near the Holdbrook School.

Dec. 23, 1992; Minas Gerais, Brazil
8:20 PM. A glowing craft landed near a thicket on the
outskirts of Passa Tempo. Several witnesses watched it then take off
and move away to the east at a low altitude. It made no sound as it

Dec. 24, 1992; southwest of Monroe, LA
6:00 PM. Twenty civilian witnesses and police southwest of
Monroe, Louisiana watched a silent, boomerang shaped UFO with bright
beams of light pass over cars in a forested area and bounce up and down
for six minutes. The object was videotaped by one of the witnesses, a

Dec. 25, 1992; Springfield, MO
9:00 PM. A dark disc-shaped object with pairs of green and
orange lights located at four places around the underside of the object
was seen over a lake in Springfield, Missouri by a boy and a girl, age
10. The UFO left behind a white smoke trail when it moved away (Source:

Dec. 31, 1992; San Antonio, TX
A woman walking outside her home saw a huge, gray metallic
disc drop straight down from the clouds. It made a buzzing noise. It
altered its shaped to that of a sphere with four legs and landed. Under
hypnosis it was revealed that she experienced an abduction aboard the
craft, in which she was given a medical exam by pale, human-looking
