A passenger photographing the desert from a commercial airliner took four photos of three extremely bright lights and a fourth much smaller light that blinked adjacent one of the other lights. Aircraft at 34,000 feet at time. “Some type of image” of a metallic grey color was noticed on the periphery of each light; the brightness of the lights was such as to hurt the eyes. A passenger next to the photographer also observed the lights and wondered as to their nature. Each of the lights was estimated as being 11-30 feet in diameter, and the primary witness felt they were on or near the ground.
