Ridge: Aug. or Sept., 1954; New York State Round UFO tracked on radar, plotted across state by Ground Observer Corps. [UFOE, VII]. Michael Swords: To my knowledge this is not a Blue book case but a NICAP case. The information for this comes from a former GOC director who told it during a talk to a NY NICAP affiliate. The facts are from Hall's UFOE I. That primary source was a tape held at NICAP HQ. Whether the tape was transcribed and that placed into a NICAP file [so possibly to be at CUFOS] I have no idea. Whether the tape itself survived, also...?? I at least have never heard it, but that means nothing, despite the fact that I've groaningly listened to more of the CUFOS ancient tape collection than probably anyone. It would be hard to say if the primary source document still existed. BUT, I think that a complete quoting of the UFOE citation is perfectly acceptable as a source, as Dick surely listened to the thing in order to make his entry. Detailed reports and documents |
