INSTRUMENTS AND HYPOTHESIS

Information at hand from the Argentine, British and Chilean Bases coincides in affirming one identical circumstance. In all cases, and simultaneously with the visual observation of the luminous space objects, swift oscillations were perceptable on geomagnetic instruments. This phenomenon, recorded over the prolonged period (20 Minutes) could only be produced by an object of large dimensions and considerable mass; was near the recording instrument, and possessed its own magnetic field. There exists, on the other hand one other possibile explanation: That is, that the object, of lesser dimensions, had caused a great dynamic molecular displacement, which could generate (availing itself of the positive charge of the atmosphere) its own magnetic field.
