Report of an aerial sighting of an unidentified flying object
Major Edward S. Ashley and Major Andrew J. Wood, while flying in an
USAF B-26 at 10,000 feet, observed a brilliant object that underwent
continuing change in color from red to white to red. The object seemed
to be descending slowly and moving to the west. The object was observed
for approximately 5 to 7 minutes. The B-26 was flying an ADX
mission so no attempt was made to intercept object.
There was an unidentified radar track that disappeared at
1857 Item 12 miles east of Chitose
