1932 or 1933, Hawthorne Beach Estate, Connecticut,
UFO Report

Report Summary
On the CT shore of Long Island Sound near the Byram River, facing S.E... "[While watching aircraft over the Sound] they noticed a plane flying much [more swiftly] than any they had seen before [progressing] up the Sound... Then, just to their right, it began a sharp turn to the left, into the rays of the setting sun, passing directly above them at great speed... The object was cigar-shaped, emitting a pink glow at its front and a light swirl of grey smoke along its sides. It was huge compared to any other plane, and it had no rudder, [wings,] or elevator. It disappeared into the Northwest, probably on a line between Rye and Port Chester."[footnote 1]
