This report should be listed as Unknown, as well as the Springfield,
Ohio, of the same day. The Lockbourne AFB report is outstanding and as
in the Springfield case there were fighters scrambled. Neither of these
reports are listed in the Project Blue Book Master Index. The
Lockbourne AFB case was investigated by OSI. On this same day four
objects were seen high in the sky above Lockbourne AFB, at Lockbourne,
Ohio, approximately 44 miles ESE of Springfield, Ohio.
SPOT INTELLIGENCE REPORT
6TH DISTRICT OFFICE OF SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS
Numerous witnesses observed four (4) objects hovering in the
vicinity of the Lockbourne AFB, Columbus, Ohio. The objects were round
and flourescent white in color. Two F-84 jets were dispatched from
Lockbourne AFB, but were unable to identify the objects. Approximately
90 per cent of the personnel at the base observed the objects. Later
through means of triangulation the objects were determined to be at
75,000 feet in altitude.
