9 Jan, updated 18 Aug 2024 LEVEL ONE A Level-I operation is the most common where interested parties purchase a MADAR unit and place it in a fixed position at a particular spot on a selected site to gather data. These MADAR Project members don't have the extra equipment or the funds to buy them, or the ability to respond to an alert, but they want the sensors to be there if a UAP is in the region. Sixty-six percent of our MADAR system are in Level-! and we are absolutely thrilled to have them. Operators get alert emails when an anomaly occurs so this is rewarding in that sense, and of course we get the email documentation as well. Operators can receive SMS cell phone alerts if they so desire.. LEVEL TWO A Level-II operation is the next step up and quite a jump at that. Somebody who wants to be alerted when a UAP is in the area and wants to get as much scientific data as they can, can go outside to gather more possible data. Operators purchase a Delayed Alarm System and subscribe (no charge) to SMS (short message service) sent to their cell phones. Level -II are said to be DAS equipped and they still get email alerts. Level-II sites have scientific equipment basically of the hand-held variety. THE PLL The Prescribed Load List varies with each operator based on how much can be funded by the local group, but the basic kit should include flashlight, note pad and pens, binoculars, cameras, video cameras, night vision, etc. Some ops may have hand-held E-M meters (EMF-390 or Trifield), spectrum analyzers and geiger counters (GMC-500 or equivalent). MADAR UPDATED If the MADAR site is geiger counter equipped (GCE) it would not be necessary for the Op to have to hand carry a counter/dosimeter at all. The readings would be documented on the MADAR spreadsheet. nThe same goes for a EMF-390. The MADAR magnetometer already provides that data in its spreadsheet. However, if a site team member WANTS to carry additional equipment this is OK, except most observers would desire observational types of devices and recorders to obtain images and sounds if possible...
