WE CAN AVOID MOST FALSE ALARMS
  Common Sense

20230611

As several of the MADAR 101 papers stress, and mentioned in the very first set-up and instruction pages an op receives (welcome aboard letter included) ALWAYS unplug the MADAR from the wall or test strip BEFORE you touch it, move it, align it. Once you have it placed in position or have relocated it, THEN plug it back in. After that do not touch or move it or place it where animals or anyone else can disturb it.

If you have the power adaptor with a line switch, be cafeful when you turn the MADAR off or on as not to move the unit itself.

The device must be placed flat. Several ops placed them or hung them vertically and wondered why they didn't work. By flat we mean reasonably level flat.

The reason why this device works is because the magnetometer we use is extremely sensative. NEVER place on a shelf or table that will get any vibration. Windowsills are a definite no-no. Temperature control is important as well. This is NOT a field unit and must be restricted to indoors with fairly constant reasonable temperature control.

If you do anything to change the EM signature in your room or office, move a filing cabinet, add a piece of electronics, it can trigger your MADAR. You might have to move your unit slightly to adjust to it. Or if the new item is temporary, by removing it you should be OK.

When your MADAR is triggered or unplugged, the server knows this and sends you and MADAR Operations a message, either a MADAR Alert message or a Daily Offline Report. This helps us help you keep your MADAR online and running as close to 24/7 as possible. Our MADAR Continuity Officer is Steve Foss, and he is right on top of this.

We know when your MADAR is triggered, so do not report any alert UNLESS you observed a UAP or unless you did something you are certain triggered the device. It is important that you send in an alibi if you triggered the alert. Best way is to cut and paste the alert message to an email..
