The NICAP web site was born
on
December 15, 1997 and was designed to be a primary internet
UFO evidence depository for special evidence and other important
information regarding serious UFO research. With the use of simple
directories the files are listed by Category, in most cases
using a comprehensive list of events. This gives us a "work list" of
things we've accomplished and things we have yet to do. We ask that
anyone who has information regarding cases listed, but not found on the
site page, to contact us.
The GSID and the Site
Search
Engine, both found on the Home Page, are
gargantuan tools
for the researcher. Reports of all types can be found with the GSID master link links, and
anything on the site
server can be found using
the search engine.
We encourage everyone to work towards both quantitative and qualitative entries. By filing the evidence into directories we have made it very easy to locate what we have or don't yet have. Researchers can quickly locate the topic of their choice. The evidence selected is not only time-tested, but it is also qualified by keeping it isolated from the lights-in-the-sky" and other candidates for IFO's. Suggestions, comments,
criticisms, are
welcome.
