Actual (seriously) unit patch from the 509th Bomb Wing used during flight
testing of the B-2 Stealth Bombers that it now flies. It shows a Grey
about
to eat a B-2, superimposed over a radar scope, along with a knife and
fork.
The caption reads CLASSIFIED FLIGHT TEST/GUSTATUS SIMILIS PULLUS" ("Tastes
like chicken")
I kid you not. This comes from a very reliable source.
Apparently the Roswell legend is well known in 509th lore.
I'm not exactly sure _what_ tastes like chicken, but there you have it.

One little ironic thing about Whiteman is that it's the _current_ home
of
the 509th Bomb Wing of Roswell fame. :) It wasn't in 1957, but the 509th
was
stationed at Pease AFB, NH in the mid-60s while the nearby famous Exeter,
NH
case was going on. The UFOs seem to follow the 509th.
As far as I can tell it was just a B-47 base in 1957.
