At 2210 hours local time, at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, S/Sgt Eugene K.
Chalmers and 2nd Lt. Phillip Galtieri, observed a spherical object to
the north of the base. The object was moving straight down, but its
course changed immediately as it moved to the northeast across the sky.
When change of course occurred, the object appeared to slow down and
almost stop in midair. The object then picked up considerable
speed and vanished.
