Paint on the scope at 270 degrees at about 5 miles established that it was a solid object not moving visual contact Two F-89 fighters were scrambled from Duluth and when they got close to the object it moved up and away confirmed by visual and radar The object moved west to about 15 miles.

Location of observers
5 miles NE of Grand Maris, Minnesota
object was observed with the naked eye and with binoculars
20 feet long and egg-shaped, red yellow and green in color

30 degree elevation at 270 degrees
range from 13 to 54 miles.
