of the questions that arose from the document search on the Mayher
incident was a mention in one doc that the object had passed in front
of the Moon. A later document illustrated this but the Moon phase was
not correct, in technical terms. The BB doc that mentions what was inferred in the sketch in
question, was located.

and the line reads: "This object passed between the observer and the crescent moon and was considerably brighter than the moon in the background." Later on in the document group

the drawing shows a crescent moon.
With a simple computer search I found that the Moon was
visible at 9:30 PM at Miami, just as reported. It was half full. To
some that might be considered a crescent moon. Of course, amateur
astronomers like myself, would not. Is this a problem with Mayher's
credibility? i really don't believe that it is.
