At 0005 EST to 0030 EST, control tower
operators at Washington National Airport observed a series of five
(5) unidentified targets that appeared on the radar scope. A call was
made to Andrews AFB to advise Andrew Tower of the situation, and
Andrews reported visual sighting of three (3) objects in the position
indicated by Washington Tower.
There was also a visual sighting by Controllers at
Washington National Airport. They observed an orange disc at 3000 feet
altitude at 300 degrees.
