Classification of Distant Encounter is usually
an incident involving an object more than 500
feet from the witness. At night it is
classified as a "nocturnal light" (NL) and
during the day as a "daylight disc" (DD). The
size of the object or the viewing conditions
may render the object in greater detail but
yet not qualify the sighting as a Close
Encounter which is an object within
500'. |

[IV] Dan Wilson: March 16, 1950; Farmington, New Mexico (BB) At 11:00 a.m. Several persons (approx. 10) observed 12 to 15 flat spheroid shaped objects maneuvering in the sky.The objects turned on their axis and manuevered up and down, sometimes turning at very sharp angles. They were observed for a period of 3 to 5 minutes.
