FORM 112 - MADAR SIGHTING
INFORMATION REPORT
HARWINTON, CONNECTICUT - MARCH 9, 2022
I. DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
March 9, 2022
6:38 pm EST. The witness had filed a report with nuforc that a
massive black triangle with curve corners, and a red, yellowish, and
blue, round set of lights under each side, had been hovering
overhead. It was now dark in Harwinton and she turned on their
garage light. As she walked down the back stairs to their driveway,
she heard a low but deep sound. When she reached the driveway, she
looked up and right above her head was a massive black triangle that
also extended past their ranch home and just above their roof. Since
it was dark outside and the craft was black, she believes she was
only able to see the craft because of the lights underneath it and
her being underneath it as well. The lights were not blinding, so
she could see the entire shape of the craft which hovered and
then very very slowly moved completely over her roof, then gone in
seconds. She reportedly watched it for a good 2 1/2 to 3 minutes..
She decided to find out where to report, since she'd been unable to
get a full nights sleep since the encounter - not through fear but
the unbelievable experience she was lucky enough to have. (NUFORC)
II. MADAR DATA
MADAR Alert Search showed no "code blue":alerts for Connecticut for
that day. However, for the sighting time period of 6:38 pm, which
converted to UTC was 11:38, MADAR site 151 at Newington, 21 miles
east of Harwinton, had a magnetometer spike of 8.62 milligaus at
11:40 UTC. Sighting times can vary while the magnetometer data is
documented by computer. The sighting duration was estimated at 2-1/2
to 3 minutes and there was a slight field increase beginning at
11:38 UTC (same as the sighting time) and lasting about 8 minutes.
Since the MADAR had not gone into alert mode, the scan-rate was
recorded at one-minute "status" intervals rather than one-second
alert-mode rate, but the next-highest reading occurred at 11:40:18
which was 8.62 milligaus. The actual highest reading was 9.38 at
11:44:18. The magnetometer had been getting readings of 0.38 to 1.12
milligaus right before all this started. Multi-sensor verification
was met with the onboard compass showing a deviation of almost 5
degrees, 2 degrees over the protocol of 3. There was a slight
variation in
the gyro or accelerometer readings for node 151 as well. Two
minutes prior to this event there was a system RECAL which
supposedly made the data more accurate and there was a mag spike 5
minutes before the sighting of 5.25 which might be indications the
craft entered Connecticut airspace at that time. Six minutes after
the sighting began or 3-4minutes after the sighting ended (11:44:18
UTC) the spike of 9.38 milligaus which could have been the craft
departing.
III. STATUS OF INVESTIGATION
June 17 - As a result of my case CIR (contact information request)
NUFORC's Christian Stepien stated the witness wished to remain
anonymous.
June 21 - Permission to contact was granted and data was provided to
FI..
July 22 - After over 4 months the FI had said "the case
investigation was moving along" He had hope to be done within the
next few days.
Sept 2 - The FI advised that he wasn't going to conduct an
investigation but simply go over the NUFORC narrative and certify it
as an "unknown". I reminded him that in cases under Project MATCH we
must have a signed, documented report.
Due to confusion over MATCH and MUFON protocols the
investigation was further delayed while a zoom-meeting was being set
up for a yet-unscheduled future meeting.
Since 5 months had already passed, I conducted the investigation,
and obtained a signed report,
IV. CONCLUSIONS
The documented report leaves no question that an object, of
significant size, emitting a low-pitched rumbling sound, was
apparently observed at close encounter range, possibly as close as
35' from the observer. MADAR
data suggests that site151 at Newington, only 21 miles
east of Harwinton, had significant increases in all
numbers during the sighting.
