This worksheet is designed to assess the possibility of a correlation with a qualifying potential sighting of interest and a credited MADAR anomaly and involves working with the known sighting date and time in UTC and the immediate state, or sometimes the adjoining state. If that protocol is met, the sighting and node locations will be taken into consideration.

1. INITIAL SOURCE:

Preliminary report discovered in NUFORC data by MADAR UFO Officer, Jeremay Haslam. See item 2.

2. NUFORC DATA CHECK:

March 9, 2022; Harwinton, Connecticut
18:38 - 6:38 pm EST. Witness filed report with nuforc that a massive black triangle with curve corners, a red, yellowish, and blue round set of lights under each side had been hovering overhead. Details:  It was dark and she turned on their garage light. As she walked down the back stairs to their driveway, she heard a low but deep sound. When she reached the driveway, she looked up and right above her head was a massive black triangle that also extended past their ranch home and just above their roof. There were a set of red, blue and yellowish round lights underneath each side. Since it was dark out and the craft was black, she believes she was only able to see it because of the lights underneath it and being underneath it as well. They were not blinding, so she could see the entire shape of the craft which hovered over and then very very slowly moved completely over roof then gone in seconds. She watched it for a good 2 1/2 to 3 minutes at most she said. She is a 66 year old wife, mother and grandmother. She decided to find where to report, since she'd been unable to get a full nights sleep since the encounter-not through fear but the unbelievable experience she was lucky enough to have. (NUFORC)

A nurforc check for the date in question, along with a check for date prior and date subsequent turned up the following.

3/9/22 18:38 Manchester CT USA

MADAR Node 151 5/31/22
3/9/22 18:38 Harwinton CT USA Triangle Approx 2 1/2 to 3 minutes Massive black triangle with curve corners, a red, yellowish, and blue round set of lights under each side hovering overhead 4/22/22

3. MUFON CMS CHECK:

Also, a CMS check for the date of this sighting included a check for the day prior and the day after and was as follows:

Nothing of significant nature was found.

June 21, 2022 - Witness gave nuforc Technical Director Christian Stepian her name, email address and phone which was forwarded to Mike Panacello, Connecticut MUFON  State Director for full investigation.

July 21, 2022 - Thirty days later, email by Fran Ridge, MADAR Operations Director, to Mike Panacello requesting update on investigation.

Sept 3, 2022 - Acting as CCO, I contacted the witness by phone, then attached a MADAR Questionnaire along with a previous narrative to an email to help the witness recall some information given over 6 months previous.

Sept 12, 2022 - Received completed questionnaire.

4. MADAR ALERT SEARCH TOOL:

No alerts filed. However data check for under-trigger field readings showed significant increase with MSV on node 151, which is technically  a field unit located at Newington most of the time.

5. PROXIMITY:

Map from Harwinton to Newington

Node 151, most of the time located at Newington, is 21 mi E of Harwinton, the test node for a field unit application, soon to be converted to a 500 series number.
Newington node 106 is 21 mi E of Harwinton
Wallingford node 139 is 26 mi SE of Harwinton

6. MADAR DATA:

The data suggests 151 had significant ramping increases in field readings within one min, and lasting approx 8 mins, with multi-sensor verification with the compass heading. MADAR report submitted to NUFORC.

The other two MADAR sites had nothing impressive in their data. 151 was/is 5 mi closer than the Wallingford site to the sighting coords.

7. COMMENTS:

MADAR Alert Search showed no alerts for Connecticut for that day. However, checking all nodes for that state for the sighting time period of 6:38 pm and converting that time into UTC, 11:38 showed a ramped increase in field data for node 151 located at Newington, 21 miles east of Harwinton where the sighting occurred. The sighting lasted 2-1/2 to 3 minutes and there was field increase on the magnetometer in milligaus beginning at 11:38 UTC (same as the sighting time) and lasting about 8 minutes. Since the MADAR had not gone into alert mode, the data-rate was recorded at one-minute status intervals rather than one-second alert-mode intervals, but the next-highest reading occurred at 11:40:18 and was 8.62 milligaus. The actual highest reading was 9.38 at 11:44:18. The magnetometer had been getting readings of 0.38 to 1.12 milligaus right before the spike. Multi-sensor verification seems to confirm the event with the onboard compass showing a deviation of almost 5 degrees, 2 degrees over our protocol of 3.  Possible slight variation in accelerometer readings for 151 as well.
