WHY WE NEED MULTI-FIELD VERIFICATION

Each week I/we get two types of reports. As you'll soon see there is a need for a third one. This third one may save us a lot of work and help us zero in on UAP and eliminate false alarms.
1) One report is a daily (Exhibit A) and tells us right away if a node is offline, rather than accidentally catching this a week or more later. This MADAR ALERT: Nodes Offline report also goes to the operator, and keeps going out, day after day, until the node goes back online. It is the prime directive of MADAR that MADAR DataProbes are online.

2) The second report is generated on Sundays and dated for the week ending that date, and is called the MADAR WEEKLY ALERT REPORT. (see Exhibit B below) This report has had as many as 300 entries in one week and has been problematic in that some nodes are running totally unattended or too close to electronic or other EM sources, or their thresholds for the area need adjusting. Excessive hits are not, and cannot, be used in our search for correlations with potential sightings of interest. Be advised, that no data is dumped from the server, it just can't be used without special attention. We simply cannot check 150-300 hits for potential sightings each week. The reason being the query using the MUFON CMS has to be done manually. Also, since the numbers are so great it is simply too much to enter into the NUFORC database. So from day one it has been a weekly task to sort out the "wheat from the chaff", eliminating any reported false alarms, any hits by a node with 3 or more anomalies that week, or data where the Average Ambient is too high for the DataProbe to work.

3) The balance, still high, is then put in a Monday report showing the data before, during, and after the alertStart. There may be 24-30 entries in this report, still too many. (See one sample in Exhibit C).

4) On Tuesdays, the cases remaining in the previous report are key-punched into a spreadsheet database so that data can be sorted by time-conversion, node, location, etc. (Exhibit D). We already have 1300 entries in this MATCH file!

5) On Wednesdays I have to take the candidates in the last "list" and key-punch those into the NUFORC database so that the sightings and anomalies get filed in chronological order SO THAT WE CAN LOOK FOR POTENTIAL CORRELATIONS! MUFON has people looking for correlations in the CMS file. We have to check the NUFORC database, ourselves. (See sample in Exhibit E).

SUGGESTION:
I propose Multi Sensor Verification

In otherwords, if a node has an anomaly, the compass heading must have at least a 3 degree deviation. Some day soon, when the accelerometer sensor already onboard the MADAR DataProbe, shows a change due to bumping, horizontal shift (earthquake?), etc., this could be an additional "filter". This MSV report each Sunday will not replace the MADAR WEEKLY ALERT REPORT since this points out obvious issues needing addressed with nodes and node ops. The newest report will reduce the keypunched candidates and could possibly replace the 1300-line system entirely, especailly if a form of this list could be sortable.

A manual test of the MSV system was conducted and was successful in reducing the number of credited hits from 42 to 20 for the week ending 29 June. A computerized server version of the MSV could be tested in the weeks ahead.
