Created; September 15, 2008, updated 30 May 2017

This is currently an 11-page chronology of UFO incidents and events for 1990
. Our thanks for these chronologies must go to Richard Hall (the original 1990 chronology from UFOE II), Dan Wilson (archive researcher), and Jean Waskiewicz (online NICAP DBase [NSID]. You will note the many foreign reports that we are now being able to access. Our special thanks to Dan Wilson for getting those to us. As more come in, this page will be updated. Previous chronologies (1947 to 1969) involved the expertise of two other team members; Rebecca Wise (Project Blue Book Archive) and Brad Sparks (Comprehensive Catalog of Project Blue Book Unknowns). Bob Gribble's entries are those filed with the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington, now operated by Peter Davenport. Trace cases are now being entered with the help of Ted Phillips, Center for Physical Trace Research and retrofitted into previous chronologies as time permits. Since I was Indiana State Director (MUFON) at that time, many of our Indiana cases are listed here. My file alone was over 3" thick. The computer database shows 69 cases in the region, with 55 of then Indiana cases. Twenty-one of the total were close encounters.

The 1990 UFO Chronology
___________________________________________________________________________________

Jan. 4, 1990; Mauriac, France
12:40 PM. Several people witnessed a black disc-shaped UFO with two rows of square windows. It had four legs and a tube in the front, and moved through the sky slowly and silently. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue #300)

Jan. 6, 1990; Crawfordsville, IN
2:30 AM. Two witnesses reported a sighting to the National UFO Reporting Center in Seattle, Washington. NUFORC handed it off to MUFON Indiana. A bright object, described as a big orange light, low and visible for 1-3 minutes, circled the area and hovered over a house about a half a mile away. We were unable to get a signed report. (MUFON Indiana, FI Roger Lamberson)

Jan. 8, 1990; Gulf Breeze, FL
Dark round or oblong object with red body light photographed by several people (UFOE II, Section VII).

Jan. 12, 1990; Indianapolis, IN
8:30 PM. A man (age 33), and three daughters (ages 15, 11, and 9) were driving north on Five-Points Road when the 11-year old first observed a circle of lights to their left. They then slowed down the car and the occupants took a good look, thought it looked strange, and then pulled onto a driveway to an old barn. They sat there 3-5 minutes and watched the object with an unobstructed view. "You could tell the object was circular by the pattern of lights" (Exhibit 2M). The lights were steady red, white, green, and blue, and reportedly went all the way around it in a perfect circle. The object was definitely round. "You've got the front view of the lights, but as the lights were rotating, you could see the back side of the lights." When the object moved, there was some tilting involved (as much as 60-degrees), and the first time it tilted, a spotlight came on. Another time it tilted and a "little dark thing" was observed on the top. This was referred to as a dome, which actually was the only recognizable feature on the object. The first time the object tilted, the circle of colored lights went out and a big white light came on underneath in the form of a beam which went down to the ground. They had their windows down and never heard any sounds associated with the object at all. When asked about the altitude, the main witness stated that the object was probably higher that 400-500'. Later estimates of the object's distance was 0.8 of a mile south of Interstate 465. (MUFON Indiana, FI Norma Croda/CUFOS hand-off)

Jan. 18, 1990; Gulf Breeze, FL
Dark round or oblong object with red body light photographed by several people. (Unverified)

Jan. 20, 1990; Boyle, MS
Silvery object with two rows of lights paced just ahead of car for two to three miles; engine, lights failed until object departed (UFOE II, Section XII).

Jan. 28, 1990; Gulf Breeze, FL
Afternoon. A MUFON UFO investigator and three others videotaped a round orange UFO that emitted white flashes of light from the top and bottom of the object. (Sources: Paul Ferrughelli, Computer Catalogue of UFO Reports, 1988-1994; MUFON UFO Journal, May 1990).

Jan. 31, 1990; Piketown, Dauphin County, PA
6:30 PM. A huge manta ray shaped object, described as bigger than a 747 without the fuselage, was seen by many witnesses in Piketown, Dauphin County. It was estimated to be flying at 10,000 feet altitude and had blinking lights. (Source: Timothy Good, The UFO Report 1991, p. 238).

Feb. 18, 1990; near Korbach, Germany
Early evening. A woman was out walking her dog in the Waldeck hills when her dog lay down on his back and started whining. The dog wouldn't get up, so she eventually had to start carrying him. Next she heard a low humming sound, which ceased after about 30 seconds. Then a large round object, with a diameter estimated to be 10-20 meters, was seen floating above a clearing and it began to glow with an incredibly bright light for 20 to 30 seconds. After that, its light dimmed and it took on a metallic appearance. The bottom of the oval craft glowed dark red like red-hot charcoal while the object lowered itself silently to the ground. In the meanwhile her dog had run away. The witness, who was now completely blinded, wanted to run, too but was struck by a blue ray of light which paralyzed her. She had trouble breathing, and tried in vain to call out for help but could not scream. She became completely covered in perspiration in under a minute. Then "there was a voice" that sounded female and somehow metallic. It said: "Don't be afraid, nothing bad will happen to you." Actually, though, this caused her to become even more panicked and nearly hysterical. The ray of light changed to green and her breathing improved. All of the sudden, two short entities appeared standing in front of her, both of them between 1.40 and 1.60 meters in height, with bald heads and gray skin. They had normal human-like eyes and noses. They wore dark green overalls. On their chests they wore a strange symbol, which resembled "^`C L". She did not understand their language. They soon returned to their craft, which stood nearby on four legs and was about 1.50 meters high. The green beam vanished and the witness sank to the ground in a faint. It was 9:30 p.m. when she woke up again, three hours after the start of the incident. She took a few steps and vomited, which she did a second time after reaching home, where her dog was already waiting for her. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1990, case # 241, citing Ulrich Magin & Illobrand Von Ludwiger). (See a similar incident occurring in 1979 on February 21 in Wales).

Feb. 22, 1990; Henryville, IN
5:30 PM. The 17-year old girl was at her home alone when she had a sighting of what is commonly known as a "Daylight Disc". It was a clear sky with a few clouds, and she heard the wind blowing, so she looked out the window. She saw a bright light and went out and stood on the porch. She looked above the trees and saw it move from there to above a trailer, and then it went straight up into the sky (very fast)." It was a bright silver color, shaped like a disc, about the size of an automobile, with white lights around the center of it (Exhibit 3M). It was hovering just over the trees in the south in this rural area and then moved over a nearby trailer. There seemed to be a gush of wind generating from this disc that caused the trees to sway. There was no sound or smell present at any time. No electromagnetic disturbance was noted and no other citizens in the nearby trailers noticed anything. The witness did state that the family dog, a mixed breed, was barking and howling during the sighting. The duration of this sighting was approximately 2-minutes. The weather was mild and sunny with broken clouds. Range: Less than 100 yards. Altitude: Less than 100'. (MUFON Indiana, FI Jim Delehanty) .

March 1, 1990; Otter Tail County, MN
Night. A woman ran out into 11 inches of fresh snow in her front yard to see a hovering disc-shaped craft. The disc ascended into a larger hovering object that appeared suddenly. She then suffered a blackout and was apparently abducted. She vaguely recalled being taken onboard by tall, blond, Nordic type beings who predicted that a catastrophe would befall Earth between the years 2000 and 2011. She also believes that an implant was inserted into her head through one of her nostrils. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1990, case # 2330, citing Don Worley, UFOs: Alien Encounters 1995).

March 2, 1990; Charlestown, IN
5:15 PM. The witness: "I was driving home near Charlestown and looking out the window into a large open field." He spotted an oval-shaped grey-colored object (like tree bark) hovering (40') above the trees. Glenn XXX, was 18 years old, said he was amazed and nervous at what he saw. After only about 5-seconds the object ascended and streaked out of sight. There was no E-M interference with his engine. He said he could not be sure of the presence of any sound because his radio was playing at a very high volume. The investigators drove out to the site and estimated the distance to the treeline where the object was seen hovering at 300 yards. (MUFON Indiana, FI's Jim Delehanty & Mike Baker)

March 2, 1990; Beavercreek, IL
11:00 PM. Two adult witnesses observed bright pulsating ovals of light, chased it for 5-minutes, and overtook it. The light and structured object below it moved 30' over the truck and bathed it in a 20-30' circle of white light. After two minutes, the witnesses left and the light followed them for three minutes. No sound. The speed of the object varied from a hover to 70 mph. Total viewing time: 20-Minutes. (UFOE II, Sections IX, X).

March 4, 1990; Wood End, Provincetown, MA
Sphere with windows seen from boat near lighthouse. Several objects took off at high speed with loud booms, stopped, hovered, flashed bright white lights (UFOE II, Section VI).

March 4, 1990; Floyd Knobs, IN
10:10 PM. The two men (ages 35 & 36) were driving in an automobile in a hilly rural area north of Louisville. The sky was clear and the temperature a chilly 45-degrees. As the two men drove past an intersection they noticed a strange orangish-colored light in the distance. The light rose from behind a group of trees and kept moving, coning towards then. After driving a short distance they stopped the car, turned off the ignition and continued to watch. As they were sitting in the parked car they could make out what was some sort of an object as it passed directly over then, gliding at an estimated altitude of 1000-1500 feet. Both men stated that they could clearly make out an outline of an unusual shape, like a wedge or "flying wing", stealth design (Exhibit 4M). The object was very large, wider than long, with 3 colored lights visible (amber/yellow on left side, blue on right, and a pink-orange color at the front. They estimated the object was as large as a 747, but much wider with a "futuristic" shape. The object passed overhead going about the same speed as an aircraft on approach (100-150 mph), N to SW.. Duration: 4-minutes. One of the witnesses said it sounded like a blank tape running through a stereo system. (MUFON Indiana, FIs Mike Baker & Jim Delehanty)

March 7, 1990; Argos, IN
9:45 PM. Gary Flagg, a security guard from Argos, was driving to work when he saw a white, triangular-shaped pattern (Similar to Exhibit 1M). "I just stopped on 17th Road (in Marshall County) and got out of the car and watched," he said. "That one was about 500' over the top of the car," he said, reading from his log. "It moved real slow, extremely slow. I don't even know how it stayed in the air." Duration: 15-minutes. Object reportedly as large as a football field. Flagg didn't report the sighting to police, but did confide in his wife. A lady who worked at his (Mr. Flagg's) place of employment saw the same object that evening while driving to work. The woman has since moved to Arkansas. (MUFON Indiana, FI's Jim Delehanty & Mike Baker.

March 13, 1990; Pensacola Beach, FL
3:00 PM. Two women driving  and saw two white, milk bottle-shaped objects make an angular descent over Pensacola Bay. The objects were estimated to be about 20-30 feet in length, and reflected sunlight. When less than 150 feet above the water, and at an estimated distance of two miles, the objects dematerialized and vanished in few seconds. (Source: MUFON field investigations database, case 900422C, citing Field Investigators Carol & Rex Salisberry).

March 20, 1990; Carney, OK
Object approached car, hovered, red illumination, heat felt. (MUFON UFO Journal, May 1990, p. 17; MUFON Log #900416) (R,L) car

March 21, 1990; Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Russia
Jet interceptor scrambled to identify radar target, saw two flashing white lights, locked radar gunsight on object (UFOE II, Section I).

March 24, 1990; near Heist-op-den-berg, Belgium
9:15 PM. A family driving home after visiting relatives near Heist-op-den-berg, Belgium were on a flat section of countryside with scattered trees when the seven-year old son pointed out an unusual light in the sky to his mother. The mother described it as a very clear star surrounded by several lights. She pointed it out to the father who was driving. He stopped the car by the side of the road to get a better look. When he looks out of his left window he saw "many enormous lights" hovering only 100 meters above their car. The object was absolutely silent. The mother saw ten orange lights through the windshield that appeared to be blinking in a certain set pattern. She then began to feel extremely sleepy and had no energy to leave the car. She then realizes that her twins are fast asleep, and the father then enters the car and they drive home. They got home at 11:20, and realized that the trip that usually takes an hour had taken over two hours this time. The family has refused hypnotic regression because of religious reasons. (Sources: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue 303; Larry Hatch, U computer database, case 15594, citing Lumieres dans la Nuit; Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1990, citing)

March 27,  1990; Kokomo, IN
10:31 PM. A young man was driving south on a county road. An extremely bright light came from the southwest. "I had to put my hands over my eyes and slow the car and take evasive maneuvers. When I took my hand down, I looked for what(ever) it was. At this time when it appeared, a buzzing noise came across my radio. I popped my tape out and the noise continued. I looked around, and as I looked up I saw a roundish oval object (Exhibit 5M). I prayed a quick 'God, protect me' and hit the gas pedal. The car moved. I looked over my shoulder and saw the ship hovering 35-40' off the road in a field. I pushed hard on the gas pedal and moved on and didn't look back to see it until I was one mile down the road. Then I no longer saw it, nor was (there) the noise on my radio. My feelings of fear and amazement was present the whole time this happened." Duration: 45-seconds. Craft had two lights on it which were 4-sided and a yellowish-orange in color. (MUFON Indiana, FI K. O. Learner; UFOE II, Section XII).

March 30, 1990; Wavre (nr), Belgium
11:00 p.m. G,A,V, RV military pilots. Gendarmes reported luminous, high speed objects; jet interceptors scrambled, multiple radar tracks of fast-moving objects (UFOE II, Section II).

March 31, 1990; Waver (nr), Belgium
12:05 a.m. G,A,V, RV military pilots. Gendarmes reported luminous, high speed objects; jet interceptors scrambled, multiple radar tracks of fast-moving objects (UFOE II, Section II).

March 31, 1990; Gulf Breeze, FL
9:30 PM. Two teenagers driving in Gulf Breeze and had approached a stop light when they saw a UFO over a nearby building. The object hovered briefly, moved slowly overhead, and then ascended out of sight. Minutes later a retired FAA air traffic controller also sighted the object in the distance. (Source: MUFON case investigation files, case 900735).

April 7, 1990; New Albany, IN
11:45 PM. Two witnesses were traveling in a car on Blackiston Mill Rd. & Clarksville Rd. near 1-265 and noticed two large objects hovering in the air, low. Actually, two bright lights were visible. The underneath side of the object with the lights seemed to have a "structure" or "windows". The car radio was changing stations arbitrarily and giving off static! The shape of the object was a large diamond. No sound was heard during the 5-minute observation. (FI's Jim Delehanty & Mike Baker)

April 16, 1990; South Chicago, IL
7:30 AM. A young man, after dropping his wife off at work, was driving his car and observed a silvery object hovering near the intersection of S. Chicago Ave. and Commercial Ave. Object was observed through windshield and described as silvery, oval on bottom, with some sort of round dome on top. Witness said he thought he heard a "whooshing" sound from the object. Object was motionless. Observation time: about a minute. After object disappeared, witness felt odd with a headache, nausea and neck pain after the incident. Also experienced "runner's high". No missing time, however. (FI Bruno Molon)

April 18, 1990; Milton, FL
11:00 PM. A man driving in Milton saw a spherical UFO approximately 1,000 feet away. The object, about 20-45 feet in diameter, first hovered, then appeared to pace his automobile. It appeared to change shape. It was last seen descending below the Escambia Bay Bridge. (Source: MUFON field investigation files, case 900818).

May 4, 1990; El Carmen, Argentina
A luminous sphere hovered over a soccer field, emitting beams of light. The beams of light turned the grass an intense blue-green color. (Source: Inforespace, issue no. 83;).

May 4, 1990; St. Georges, Belgium
10:20 PM. A dog howled when a silent disc-shaped object hovered in the yard, just one meter above the ground. The lights on the object lit the ground and area. (Source: FSR, December 1990).

May 19, 1990; Warrior, AL
4:35 AM. Driving to work a man saw a boomerang-shaped object with a fan tail approach from the front, hesitate, and then pass 15-20 feet over his truck at a leisurely speed. It had six big lights in front. He watched it until it was lost from view amid the rooflines in the vicinity. The UFO apparently overflew a shale strip mine in the area. (Sources: Todd Pierce, field investigator, MUFON field investigations database, case 900708; Timothy Good, The UFO Report 1992, p. 121, citing the MUFON UFO Journal).

Blind dog on porch indifferent to boomerang. (Woodward)

Dog became still and quite before a boomerang appeared. Dark, delta-shaped object with large white lights around edge hovered; departed at high speed (UFOE II, Sections IX, X).

May 29, 1990; Evansville, IN
9:45 PM. Evansville Regional Airport referred the caller to FI Fran Ridge. Four witnesses observed a "stingray" craft at low altitude. The neighbor saw it first and called the primary witness' attention to it. It was described as moving at a steady, but slow, pace, much like a helicopter. The lights were yellow, green & red and numbered somewhere around 15 or more. This craft flew over a populated area at 200' altitude, from west to east, then turned south on a curved flight. There was no sound from this object which was close enough to be rated a close encounter. Observed about 2-minutes. Witness wouldn't file a report. Listed as "NI", "Not Investigated." (MUFON Indiana, FI Fran Ridge)

May 30, 1990; Calumet City, IN
10:15 PM. A 39-year-old mother and her two sons, age 10 and 12, were relaxing in their home when they sighted an unusual object hovering over a house across the street. "Mrs. B" had looked out of the doorway and saw the object, described as a 30', domed, gray disc, in detail, less than 100' away, around 50' off the ground for seven minutes. The object had what appeared to be bright white windows around the circumference, windows wider at the bottom than at the top. A dark line seemed to rotate inside bank of windows. Light on bottom described as a foggy or fuzzy white glow on flat bottom of object. The object then drifted slowly away to the southwest, then left rapidly, going through color changes (green, red, yellow) and was lost to sight. There was no sound reported. Dog appeared to be affected, had unusual smirk on face and cried afterward. Dog fine next day. A Burnham Police Officer had also seen the UFO and had been called out to the woman's house that night. The younger boy reported that he had a UFO-related dream that night. (FI Bruno Molon, Ref. 4)

Dog barked continuously, oval object w/light beams near. (Woodward)

June 8, 1990; Navarre Beach, FL
11:30 PM. The Bridges family observed a cluster of 20-30 lights that appeared to be low over the Gulf of Mexico about ten miles away from their home. These lights would join together in a circular orbit and then shoot out in many directions. Some of the paths were jagged with sharp turns and abrupt stops, while others were smooth stops. The UFOs would then regroup and repeat the process randomly. Another group of about 20 people, who were visiting in rental units, also saw the display. The entire event lasted about 30 minutes. (Source: Rex Salisberry, Gulf Breeze Sentinel, Gulf Breeze, FL, June 14, 1990).

June 23, 1990; Williams Lake, British Columbia
12:30 PM. An orange disc-shaped object with portholes on the bottom portion, very bright, followed the course of a creek in Williams Lake, British Columbia at a low altitude. The witness's arm became numb during this close encounter. (Source: Timothy Good, The UFO Report 1992, p. 123).

June 26, 1990; west of Montady, France
11:00 PM. An orange ovoid object hovered over the roadside of highway D11 west of Montady, France. It had a halo that glowed. The UFO shot off toward the west-northwest, darkening three times as it flew. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue no. 336).

July 2, 1990; Kiev, Ukraine
Midnight. Vitaly Rudenko and his brother were sleeping on the roof of their kitchen when they spotted a maneuvering light that changed color from a light silver to a brilliant yellow. As they watched an eerie silence surrounded them. Rudenko half jokingly yelled out, "Come down and take us!" Quite unexpectedly, the light descended rapidly and hovered very close to them. They described it as an enormous sphere that was slightly elongated. A dazzling beam of light shot out from the sphere and struck both men. At this point they lost all track of what happened next. Rudenko woke up later crawling through the vegetable garden with his clothing scorched. His brother was found unconscious with bruises on his forehead. No hypnotic regression has been attempted to date. (Source: Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1990, citing UFOZone, Russia).

July 13, 1990; Manchester, NH
7:00 PM. A teenage girl saw a brilliant light from her bedroom window rise from and hover over a swamp across the road and a few hundred feet away. She realized that this was the forward light of a tapered cylindrical object. It rotated to reveal its length. There were square lights or windows equally spaced along the midsection of its dark gray metallic surface. At one end was a horizontal cable, at the end of which was a red light. The object glided along laterally until she lost sight of it behind a line of trees. (Source: Dan Wright, MUFON UFO Journal, February 1991, p. 11).

July 17, 1990; Stockton Lake, MO
10:30 PM. A witness saw a flat bean- shaped object at close range for several minutes. (Ref. 4)

July 18, 1990; New Hartford, CT
2:00 AM. A woman was lying awake in bed when she noticed bright flashing lights over her backyard. She went to the window and witnessed a small domed disc hovering 100 feet away and descending over the corner of the lawn. The object maneuvered a few seconds without actually touching down. She noted that it had flashing red, yellow, and white lights around its bottom rim. It then accelerated and was out of sight behind some trees in a second. Two days later a hired worker asked her about some strange material on the grass. She realized it was in the area of the sighting. After eliminating the lawn car company as responsible for an oily residue on the grass, she decided to report the incident. (Source: Randy Miles, MUFON UFO Journal, December 1990, p. 19).

July 19, 1990; Fort Allen, Puerto Rico
12:10 AM. According to an article in the French UFO magazine Lumieres dans la Nuit, all US servicemen who were outside were ordered to go inside and remain there when their military base was illuminated by a low flying, disc-shaped UFO. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue no. 311).

Sept. 20, 1990 (date approximate); Newburgh, Indiana
01:30 AM. Triangle, 1 hour. This happened in the country about 2 mi. north of the Alcoa Plant. Witnesses were outside talking and noticed in the E a lighted object just hovering in one spot. The lights appeared to be flashing. Suddenly this object moved up and down several times. When the object moved, they could hear the cows in the distant a mile away "mooing". After watching for about an hour it started heading W towards them. They could no longer see any lights as it moved directly over their heads but they could see that it was huge, about the size of a football field, only triangular in shape and mayne as low as 800 ft. There was no noise coming from this object and they could even hear the crickets as it moved over the top of them. (NUFORC)

11:00 PM. A red ball of light, half a meter in diameter, chased two witnesses for 20 minutes. They felt heat from the object. (Source: Bob Pratt, UFO Danger Zone: Terror and Death in Brazil--Where Next? p. 85).

July 23, 1990; Rybnik, Poland
11:30 PM. The witness had stepped out of his house and noticed that his dog had broken the chain that he had been tied up to. Looking up, he noticed a powerful beam of white light in the sky and a small red light moving underneath it. The white beam of light moved around erratically as if searching. The witness signaled the beam of light with his flashlight several times and it appeared to answer him by shining on the highway directly in front of him. He then became frightened and hid behind a light pole. The white beam of light approached and struck him in the leg. He ran to a nearby house but it was deserted and locked, so he then ran back to the road. The object had now come closer to the ground, and a red light and a ladder were now visible. On the ladder stood a humanoid figure, but no details could be seen because of the glare from a nearby streetlight. The being entered the object, which he described as cigar shaped. The ladder was drawn up and the red light went out. The object then left the area. (Sources: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue #309; Albert S. Rosales, Humanoid Contact Database 1990, case # 1652, citing Bronislaw Rzepecki, Australian UFO Bulletin).

Two 14-year-old girls watched a white triangular object hover for 2 minutes, point up. The craft then shot straight up extremely fast. (Source: Lumieres dans la Nuit, issue no. 302).

July 28, 1990; Thornlands, Queensland, Australia
About 9:20 PM local time. While travelling home, a woman and her three children sighted an unusual object "hovering" to their left. It was white in colour and flashing red/green/yellow. She drove almost under it. It was described as a typical saucer-shape with dome. (Source: ACUFOS Research Digest. No.37. p1.)

Sept. 1, 1990; Roscoe, Illinois
9:00 p.m. local. Triangle. Duration:10 minutes.  Witness was about thirteen years old and lived near a big apple orchard and had just finished picking a bunch of apples. He and his dad were out on the driveway, spraying all of the apples down with the hose. Since they lived out in the country the sky was almost always bright with stars and he often found himself staring up at the sky for meteors and such. This particular night he was staring up at the sky and there, directly above them, at what seemed like miles in altitude, was a gigantic triangular thing with bright lights on each tip of the triangle. The thing just sat there motionless for a couple of minutes. Then, without warning, it began rotating back and forth as if on a fixed point. After he came out of a near state of shock he grabbed his dad and showed him what he was looking at. His dad was not very emotional and kind of looked at it and said, "Oh yeah. My brothers and I use to see that thing out on the farm all the time when we were kids." Then he went back to spraying the apples while the boy flew inside the house to get his mom and grandma to show them the thing. They were frustratingly slow and he was begging them to hurry. By the time they got out there, the thing was gone and he was a little upset. His dad was still standing there with the hose. He asked him where the thing went. He said he didn't know. That was the last they ever saw of the big triangle. (NUFORC)

Sept. 15, 1990 (date approximate); W. of Greencastle, Indiana
6:00 p.m. local. A silver-metallic hockey puck-shaped object observed hanging in the daytime sky.  Sighting occurred during full-daylight, in a beautiful blue near-cloudless sky.  Witness was traveling N on Manhattan Road in western Putnam County, when he noticed an object up in the sky probably many miles ahead of him at an altitude of several thousand feet. His first impression was it must be a balloon, but very quickly knew it was not one as it was completely motionless in the sky. He was able to try to watch it for several minutes, maybe as much as 10 minutes. But because he had to be somewhere at a certian time, he couldn't stop. The entire time he was viewing it, it never seemed to move. The best way to describe the shape of it is was to compare it to a hockey puck. It appeared flat on two sides and perfectly circular in shape. The color was silver-metallic. He was unable to make out any features such as "windows", or "engine ports". The object's surfaces seemed perfectly smooth. While it looked like a hockey puck, it didn't lie flat in the sky, but was "tilted" at about 30 degrees. Once again, nothing about the appearance of the object during the time that he observed it changed. It never rotated on its own axis, or moved in the sky. It was clear to him that it was some kind of solid object, and not something "celestial" in the sky he was looking at. It finally was out of his view after driving about 15 miles, but when he was able to take a peak behind him in the sky, it was still there. (NUFORC)

Sept. 22, 1990; Champaign, Illinois
7:00 p.m. local. While walking out of K-mart witness looked up at flock of birds in the twilight sky. Above/beyond the birds he noticed an object slowly moving northward. It immediately gave him chills because it didn't look like any flying vehicle he'd ever seen. For a moment he thought it might be a stealth fighter, since the nation was gearing up for the first Iraq war at the time, but the object had no wings or rotors or wheels, just a smooth oval (almond or maybe flattened egg) shape, slightly narrower in front, with a small oval bump on top.  He couldn't determine surface details since the sun was down and he could only see a black silhouette against the sky. It made no noise, there were no lights. When he first saw it, it was about 45 degrees up, to the west and estimated at 20-30 feet wide, flying at approximately 1500' altitude moving N around 100 mph (similar to a small private plane in size and speed).  No one else was watching it. He observed it for a couple minutes until it disappeared over the horizon. After getting home he phoned the local airport and asked if they had any strange radar images or if anyone else had reported a UFO. They acted like he was crazy so he didn't bother to notify the police. Faculty member at the University of Illinois. (NUFORC)

Oct. 3, 1990; Argos, IN
8:00 PM. Three persons were outside at Poplar Grove Church, watching the sky and saw the elusive triangle with white lights on it's corners. (Norma thinks that this one may have been an aircraft). The other Argos triangle moved with the flat-side forward! This one was moving like a normal light configuration on a jet and was not at close encounter range. However, Mr. Flagg was the witness and there was no sound reported. (MUFON Indiana, FI Norma Croda)

Oct. 10, 1990; Skibo, MN
Formations of white objects with red and green body lights alternately hovered and darted around. Unidentified objects also tracked on radar (UFOE II, Section IV).

Oct. 11, 1990; Monterey, IN
9:00 PM.. Another deltoid, observed near Grissom AFB by two witnesses, this object passed right over them at around 500' with no sound. Object described as three white border lights in a triangular pattern, base moving forward! The rear light was trailed by a faint white light blinking every once in a while. Inside the triangle there were many red, green & blue smaller lights. (MUFON Indiana, FI K.O. Learner)

Oct. 18, 1990; Argos, IN
7:00 PM..Black "bow-tie", this object was observed by two witnesses to descend to 500' altitude and range (Exhibit 7M). One side of the object had two green lights; the other side had two red lights. The primary witness and his father were driving through Argos. He looked up in the sky and observed the object. At first he thought it was an airplane but it was very low and made no noise. The object moved slowly, its speed varied and at times it seemed like it was merely floating. At one point the object descended. Finally, the object which started in the east reportedly flew out of their sight into the west. Object was viewed with binoculars at some point. Observed for 15-minutes. The description of the object is unusual and at one point the object was at close encounter range. It's duration and lack of sound reported by two witnesses makes this an unknown. (MUFON Indiana, FIs Lamberson & Learner).

Oct. 19, 1990; Plymouth, IN
11:25 PM. Two observers reported a strange configuration of red, white & green lights. The side view exhibited a convex dark top portion (dome) with a large white light centered underneath. In-between the dark top and the white light was a small red light. The bottom view looked like a bell-shaped pattern, with the red light in the lead and a green light in the rear (Exhibit 8M). Coming home through the east side of town the witnesses observed the lights, which passed over their car and then hovered in one place for awhile. Scared, but soon overcome with curiosity, they turned off the radio and rolled down the window. There was no noise. The object later headed east and made a "U-turn" and appeared to land. Then after about 5 minutes it was spotted in the east, again, and seemed to move with them. After a total of 15 minutes it grew fainter and disappeared. Witnesses say the lights came as close as 50-75 feet at one point, apparently as it passed over them heading in their direction of travel. The report is rather sketchy, but the description of the lights with no sound appears to represent a close encounter. (MUFON Indiana, FIs Lamberson & Learner).

Oct. 22, 1990; Culver, IN
Evening.  Melanie Wagner, one of the primary witnesses in the Culver area, reported a strange configuration of many lights. The front view of the object appeared to be somewhat rectangular with red, white & green lights of various sizes scattered around. There were approximately two red & two green in a horizontal plane with a larger space between the red & green lights. Smaller white lights were above and around these colored ones. The bottom view was wedge-shaped with hundreds of white lights on the surface. The brother to Melanie Wagner also observed a strange configuration of the lights in the Culver area the same evening as his sister's sighting. The head-on version was described as a solid white center light with two blinking white lights, one on each side and slightly lower. Overhead version described as cross-shaped pattern of lights, some steady, others blinking and moving like a movie marquee pattern. Witness says this was not an aircraft. (MUFON Indiana, FIs Lamberson & Learner).

Oct 24, 1990; Louisville, KY
2:45 PM. A lady in a 12th floor office observed a stationary, silvery, flat-bottomed disc below her level against a backdrop of trees. About 20 feet in diameter, its only feature initially was an upturned rim. The object began moving slowly upward and away in an arc, then proceeded back and forth in half-circle paths, alternately displaying its black underside while continually moving farther away. The witness was joined by a second woman, then a man who alone saw a second vehicle, boomerang shaped, merge with the first in the distance. About two miles away the objects suddenly disappeared from view. Duration: 10 minutes. (Ref.5).

Oct. 29, 1990; Argos, IN
Evening. The lady's husband and young son were out in the yard; she was in the kitchen. They first saw the object coming from the east. It appeared to be an airplane at first, but as it got closer they could see the triangular pattern of red & green blinking lights underneath the object. (Exhibit 9M) There wasn't any sound. The husband ran into the house and got his wife to come out. The lowest altitude the object was observed at was approx 1,000'. It was tilted to the right as it was turning northwest. There were two bright lights on back of the object (not like conventional a/c at all). Top of the object appeared to be white and shiny, nose was rounded. In view about 4 minutes. Report indicates the existence of a possible new military aircraft. However, three witnesses state that the object produced no audible sound at 1,000'.  (MUFON Indiana, FI K.O. Learner).

11:30 PM. A delta-shaped object hovered and maneuvered about in the sky. Then two of the objects were seen: one landed in a field, and the other buzzed a car. Both UFOs were completely silent. (Source: Timothy Good, The UFO Report 1992, p. 138).

Nov.13, 1990; Logansport, IN
9:00 PM. Two ladies were driving on US 35 and the driver wasn't listening to directions to turn. The other lady yelled at her and she nearly wrecked the car. She had been watching something and was pointing. "I looked out the passenger window and saw (100) bright lights going in sequence, one at a time, from right to left. As they lit up farther to the left, the ones on the right glowed to a red. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It moved in front of our car, across the road, then back to in front of our car. It seemed weightless. It began to move east approximately 40-50 mph and kept in front of us and to the right. We lost sight of it when we turned south but found it again on Chase & Perrysburg Rd (or at least what we thought was the same object). It was blinking red, green, white just above (maybe 15-20-degrees) the horizon. It hovered there about 5-10 minutes. Reportedly 100' off ground, approximately 200 yards at closest point. Duration 15-minutes. No sound reported. Approximately seven aircraft (jets) observed in area during event period. (MUFON Indiana, FI's Roger Lamberson & K.O. Learner).

Nov. 29, 1990; Carbondale, IL
10:30 PM. The chairman and chief executive officer of Freeman United Coal Mining Co., Lincoln, claims he and his family saw something that has him stumped. He had just switched off Johnny Carson and dozed off when his 24-year-old daughter, Kelcy Roan, burst through the door of their home and proclaimed that she had seen some weird lights. Lincoln: "All I can say is that I've never seen anything like it before. They were shining almost like reflected light, and they looked to be moving at a very high rate of speed. I still seek a logical solution."Kelcy was returning home from Carbondale when she turned onto Grant City Road east of Carbondale from Illinois 13. She pulled off when she saw a pyramid of lights looming over her parent's house. About 15-20 other cars also were pulled off, and several people had gotten out to watch. Each side of the pyramid had two white lights, and the pyramid was headed her way. And there was no sound. Lights were headed south to north, then turned sharply and went east to west. (UFOs or new stealth technology?). (Ref.3)
